Lovely location with walks right from the back yard. Upside down layout with beds downstairs and small open plan lounge / diner / kitchen above. (Was just about adequate for 2 adults and a teenager), 2 local pubs and shops within yards of the front door. Window frames rotten and require replacing.

Lovely compact cottage in a great location. Well equipped and comfortable for two/ three people. Handy field next to cottage for our dog and straight onto beautiful walking. Hartington is a beautiful village with all the amenities you need. Great pub, Derbyshire arms.

This cosy cottage is in a great location in the centre of the village and only 2 mins walk from the fantastic The Devonshire Arms. Book ahead as its very small so usually the dining room is fully reserved. As others have said the cottage is compact so only really suitable for a couple or 2 adults & 1 child. Whilst there are plenty of kitchen utensiRead morels and foil and cling film there is absolutely nothing else so you will need to bring salt & pepper, hair dryers etc (Shame they cant provide these) Hide

We had a wonderful few days in this beautiful cottage in the snow (which reduced the walking we were expecting to do, but that's no-one's fault). For us, the beds were too soft, but otherwise, we were perfectly comfortable. The first two nights, the sudden, unseasonable, heavy snow meant that neither pub in the village was doing food, but we had foRead moreod with us and anyway, the village store was open so we'd have been fine. Considering no towels provided , and we have to strip the beds , empty the bins etc the price is too expensive. Otherwise, I love the location and the cottage is beautiful, very cosy and we have all we need . Its my second time there because I love the location and the house .

Needs refurbishment. Tiny bathroom located alongside the living space. Too small to accommodate four people. Not good value for money but in a good location.

Cottage is perfect for two people. It could be problematic with young children, as the living areas are upstairs and the staircase could be dangerous for young ones. Great location.

This is a lovely little cottage in a perfect location in a delightful village. Say no more! It's ideal for two people - but would be a squeeze for more. One of the reasons for this is the toilet/bathroom is in the living area - right next to the kitchen table! This isn't a problem is you're a couple but could be a little embarrassing if you are shaRead morering with friends. (Think caravan.) There's only so loud you can hum whilst someone is behind that door! Otherwise, the cottage is a delight. Hide

Although a cute cottage, there were some downsides to staying here. The bathroom didn't come with soap to wash our hands; the bed was incredibly creaky meaning we didn't get much sleep; it seems the heater in the bedroom was broken but this wasn't explained to us, the replacement heater was very dusty and we didn't feel safe leaving it on unattendeRead mored; the front door was difficult to open; and the shower is in darkness due to the lack of lighting in the bathroom. Although advertised as for 4, it would be a tight squeeze to have 4 especially if all adults. Facilities available are fairly basic. Single beds more suited to children than adults. Although in village location, access to the cottage is narrow. Stairs - difficult for older folk to negotiate. No drying facilities included.
