A very pleasant and comfortable cottage. It was approximately 20 mins walk to York Minster and all on the flat. Great pub opposite the cottage and also a Deli and a butcherss. We loved our stay in Green Cottage. It was a really easy walk into York Centre, so location was great. The cottage was comfortable and cosy. Our daughter loved the attic room. It was cold whilst we were in York but the house was easy to keep warm and we also liked having the fire one evening. We would definitely recommend both Green Cottage and YorRead morek as a location for a short break. Hide

We (two couples) spent New Year at the cottage. It was the perfect place. Just a 15 minute walk into York and some lovely quaint pubs. Then we saw the New Year in in the cosy living room. Altogether a perfect stay

Loved York. The cottage is situated within walking distance of York city centre. Lovely and clean. We were thankful for the hamper and the dogs loved their treats. The only down side was the bed and the settee. Being tall people both were uncomfortable. But I do understand you cannot please everyone.

Ideal cottage for a long weekend with some nice welcoming touches and it was nicely decorated for Christmas which was unexpected. The stairs are steep and therefore if youre of limited mobility they could be a challenge, although there are plenty of hand rails. Green cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. The owners have covered every eventuality. The kitchen is quite small but perfectly ok for the amount of cooking one wants to do on holiday. The walk into York takes approx 15 minutes then you have the whole of York to explore. It's unfortunate that the pub opposite has closed.

A really delightful house within a short walk from the main city walls. The property itself had everything we needed and there were neat labels left around the house to help with figuring things out. We didn't use the upstairs room but would be great for two children so ideal for couples and families.

Lovely little cottage in a great location!! Really enjoyed our stay.. Things that may have been in the detail & I overlooked which would stop me from going back (although didnt change our great stay) are; lane width & manoeuvrability, plus parking space - small & awkward if you drive a big car.
