This cottage enjoys a quiet location in the small village of Satterthwaite, within walking distance of the local pub, The Eagles Head, perfect for a long lunch, or a few drinks in the evening. Two miles from the property is the Grizedale Forest visitor centre which has a range of walking and cycle routes, Segways for hire, a sculpture trail, and a Go-Ape high ropes adventure. Of course, visitors will want to visit the lakes and the property is situated right in the middle of two of the region’s finest: Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, which are both around six miles away.

This pretty cottage is an ideal base from which to explore the Lake District and offers accommodation sleeping seven. The heart of the house is the open-plan lounge/diner, with its beamed ceiling, slate floor, and stone fireplace which now houses the wood burner. The two comfortable sofas allow guests to relax whilst watching the TV and DVD, or perhaps enjoying one of the selection of provided books or board games. The dining area of this room has a large table seating eight. A snug room, also located on the ground floor, takes on the role of a second lounge area with a second TV. The kitchen is well-equipped with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and access through to the sunny conservatory with its wicker chairs and patio windows leading out to the garden. There is also a handy wet room with walk-in shower and WC on the ground floor. Taking the stairs to the first floor, guests will find the master bedroom with its king-size bed, as well as a double room, a twin room and, finally, a bunk-bedroom. The main bathroom is also located upstairs and has a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside, the property benefits from an attractive rear garden with table and chairs, from which guests may like to enjoy alfresco meals.

Such a fab cottage to stay in with friends. We're a group of 7 friends who stayed in Honeysuckle over the course of a week - close to so many local trails for walks and the visitor centre. Perfect way to get away from the world and technology and just enjoy the local area.

Really lovely cottage and one of the best equipped weve ever stayed at. The location is great if you dont have a need for shops etc on your doorstep, its very tranquil and the local pub is excellent. There are also some great walks straight from the cottage, which our dogs absolutely loved. I would definitely recommend!

We had a lovely break at this well equipped, comfortable cottage. It's in a quiet rural location. Although it's close to the road, the birdsong was louder. There is plenty to do but you really need a car to get about.

Location is great. Between two major lakes. Walking routes are everywhere around the cottage. We just walked straight out of the cottage and up the hills with the dogs. The pub is only 50mts away but closed Monday and Tuesday. I would imagine that the only problem would be in peak season and busy weekends when getting from A to B would be quite sloRead morew due to the roads around here. Having said that, we were there in April and it was fine. Overall we would highly recommend this property. Hide
