This unique Scandinavian inspired bolthole, is located as the name suggests in an idyllic location on the banks of the River Wye, in the heart of this popular market town. It benefits from uninterrupted views up to Bakewell Bridge, and beyond and down the river.

The interior is styled from the owner’s Scandinavian heritage and love of Danish design. Offering an oasis of Nordic calm in amongst the hustle and bustle of the vibrant market town, with cafes, restaurants and shops only a few minutes stroll away and easy access to the country houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. Once the old sawmill, the building has been converted in recent years to provide accommodation in a unique position, with the original fabric and style of the building having been retained.

A single flight of stairs takes you to the first floor, the accommodation then all being on one level, having been newly fitted out in a modern Scandinavian contemporary style. You enter the apartment, with oak flooring adding to its character throughout, to your left is the bedroom, with super king size double bed (this can be split into two singles on request) - the drama of the vaulted sloping ceiling adding to the rooms charm. On your right is the very good sized bathroom, with bath, toilet, hand basin and separate shower cubicle. A further door opens into the splendour of the open plan fully equipped kitchen to your right and to your left the lounge dining area enjoying the stunning views of the River Wye.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, excellent accomodation in a fantastic location, stunning walks along the riverside and to the local brewery. Plenty of places to eat and enjoy sitting by the river with a cold beverage. It was lovely listening to the geese and ducks in the mornings while enjoying our coffee. This is a pleasant apartment in a quiet but central area of Bakewell with a dedicated parking space about 100 metres away. There are lots of good cafs and restaurants just a short walk away and an excellent pub/restaurant next door.

The music from the Woodyard downstairs might annoy some people. The position of the apartment is perfect for exploring Bakewell and great to have a parking space.

A really well setup apartment, comfortable furniture, excellent location for all of Bakewell and spotless. Made for a very relaxing holiday in a special part of the country.

We loved this apartment. It is clean, airy and the bed is really comfortable as was the sofa where we sat and watched the antics of the geese and ducks on the river. It was very warm during our stay and the air con is very good. Private parking was much appreciated and the apartment is perfectly located for walking into Bakewell which is a lovely tRead moreown. Perfect location with 2 minute walk into the centre of the town. Designated parking space is ideal in this busy part of Bakewell. Beautiful view out onto the river. Lovely apartment. Very convenient in Bakewell and although its over the Woodyard pub its not noisy as someone said. Perfectly clean, modern and bright. Great for visiting Chatsworth, Hardwick and Haddon Hall. Also good central position for walking. We walked miles. Thanks Chris
