Located only a mile from Chesterfield, guests are never far away from a wide selection of eateries and shops. A day spent bargain hunting at Chesterfield Market is a must, and the famous crooked church spire is well worth a visit. A short drive west will bring you to the sprawling Peak District National Park where, along with the many walks and cycle paths, historic Chatsworth House can be visited.

A small porch with handy boot racks and coat hooks welcome you into this property and into the heart of this spacious house into the games room and guide you through an arched opening into the spacious sitting room. With a cosy log burning stove, wooden floors, occasional rugs and comfortable sofas, this is a fantastic family room with a giant wide screen tv. The kitchen features cream units, a large window, good sized breakfast table and is fully equipped for your stay. Family meals can be enjoyed in the formal dining room with another log burning stove, which overlooks the garden to one side and the private indoor swimming pool through lockable French windows to the other. This offers the perfect opportunity to relax with a few lengths after a long day of walking, or enjoy some time in the water with the children. Also on this floor is a utility room, shower room and further shower area by the pool, both with toilets.Upstairs you will find the four bedrooms, which includes a spacious master with a king sized double bed and family bathroom with a roll top bath and a large walk in shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet. There are two further double bedrooms and a fourth with four single beds – an ideal dormitory for children. A further family bathroom with a bath, wash basin and toilet completes this floor.

Outside you will find various areas on which to sit and enjoy some sun or a tasty BBQ and why not enjoy the outdoor bar area.  There is also access to a bright modern toilet room from the outside area.

Southwood Chase just outside Chesterfield. We booked a 4 night stay a party of 9 ranging from 3.5 yes to 66yrs. The house is lovely and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The heated pool was used by all of us especially the grand children. But the Woodman Bar was the icing on the cake. Our very own pub complete with bar, pool taRead moreble, jukebox and large TV. Fantastic place! Everything you need for a big family holiday. Kitchen well equipped if you want to self cater for a large family. They have all the entertainment systems you need. Great location. We had a wonderful holiday. Great place to stay for a family whatever the weather. Facilities for children were exceptional (lots of toys for very young children). Very convenient for Chesterfield and lots of places to visit if you wanted to. Big age range in our group from 11 to 78 but we all had a great time. Would love to visit again if cooking Read morefacilities were better. As a group we have varied food requirements from fussy eaters, vegetarian and gluten free. Hide

Just adorable. Large spacious house. Well maintained with a gorgeous indoor heated pool which the kids absolutely loved. Gated property which gave a real sense of security and safety especially with toddlers running around. The bar and karaoke was enjoyed by all as were the toasty logs fires.

We had a wonderful family get together for a birthday celebration. The pool was superb and the grandkids couldn't stay out of it. Loads of space to relax and extra cosy with the log burners with plenty of logs supplied. Walking distance to chesterfield too.

The owners were very friendly and the security was excellent at this venue. The space was fabulous for all of our family and the pool was amazing. Also the warmth of the place was excellent, we did not have to light the fires. It was decorated for the Christmas / New Year period.

Cottage was very well equiped. There were plenty of bathrooms and showers both upstairs and down. The heating system kept the whole house warm. The swimming pool was excellent and had it's own shower. We used the bar, snooker table and stage in the adjacent building and were kept warm by using the log burner which had an ample supply of logs.
