This barn conversion is ideally located to explore the Derbyshire Dales area of the Peak District National Park. With Baslow and Curbar Edges on its doorstep, you will be hard pressed to find better local views than from these gritstone walks. Or, for those adventurous types, rock climbing makes a thrilling alternative to a gentle stroll, while also taking in those stunning panoramas. The village pub, Bridge Inn, serves tasty local food to follow those long and exhausting days out.

Originally the village cobbler’s shop, the property is accessed via the patio area into the kitchen. This room is compact but includes everything you should need for your stay and has been decorated in a country farmhouse style with terracotta floor tiling, cream painted cabinets, wooden worktops and exposed beams above. Once you’ve finished preparing your meal, step down into the cosy sitting and dining room. With a beamed ceiling, exposed stone wall and pretty window, this is a relaxing space to unwind and enjoy your evening meal. Upstairs, the bedroom is very inviting, with its apex roof, skylight, exposed beam and bright, modern en suite.

If the weather permits, step outside into the patio area to enjoy a glass of wine in the sun. If you are booking with friends, why not rent the adjoining Lower Barn to accommodate four guests in total.

This is a comfortable cottage that had everything we needed. The parking is good, and the facilities were more than adequate for our needs for the week. It's in a great place in terms of visiting parts of the Peak District - we seemed to be only 20 miles or so from lots of interesting places/walks/cycle paths. We did a couple of nice walks from theRead more property, and Bakewell is only a few miles away. The local Pub served a lovely meal and there are shops relatively close for groceries. Hide

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage homely and comfortable, quiet and relaxing in a lovely village. Places to eat Bridge Inn Calver Bridge, however preferred the Eating House value for money and very friendly staff. Lovely walks at Curbar and Calver and lots of other places to visits in a 10 mile radius and further should you wish to explore.

A lovely cosy barn conversion in the hamlet of Curbar, just below Curbar Edge, with fantastic walks from the accommodation and close by. A recently refurbished kitchen is well equipped and the rooms were warm and welcoming. Dog friendly.

Upper Barn is really cosy, comfortable and characterful. Great walks on the doorstep, three excellent pubs within walking distance and close to Bakewell and Chatsworth House too. The barn is dog friendly (it's worth being aware that the small courtyard isn't secure but that didn't bother us). The barn is well equipped and has a lovely, spacious en Read moresuite with an excellent shower. Access is straight into the tiled-floor kitchen which is great for dealing with a muddy dog. A great stay, thank you! Hide

The cottage was lovely, a very beautiful area. A nice touch with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits ready for a much needed drink when we got there. As a dog friendly accommodation I felt that it would have been nice to have a fenced off area for the dog. Lots of lovely areas to walk right on the doorstep.
