Cottages in Brancaster
If you’re looking for a UK coastal break with sandy beaches, wonderful walks and plenty to see and do, then Brancaster is a fantastic option. Located on the Royal Norfolk Coast, this coastal village is just a short distance from several stunning Norfolk beaches, including Hunstanton, Heacham and Wells-next-the-Sea.
Our range of holiday cottages in Brancaster includes luxury cottages and some outstanding large homes that sleep up to 10 guests, perfect for a big family or friends’ get-together. We also have several dog-friendly homes in the Brancaster area, which is great considering the seemingly infinite number of coastal and countryside walks, dog-friendly activities and eateries nearby.
Brancaster and its neighbour, Brancaster Staithe, offer holiday fun in abundance. Brancaster Beach is a National Trust site known for its large, sandy beach. The flat sands seem unending, and the beach’s outstanding views, cleanliness and fascinating natural landscape attract thousands of visitors every year. There is also an array of facilities at the beach, including a large car park and refreshment kiosk, while the beach is dog-friendly all year, too.
Brancaster Beach has a rather unusual attraction, the SS Vina shipwreck. You can still see the main mast of the ship sticking out above the ground, which makes for a great photo op! Visitors are told, however, not to attempt to visit the shipwreck, as it is surrounded by fast-flowing water.
If you’re someone who is into sailing, then a day or two spent at Brancaster Staithe is a must. This traditional fishing village is home to a large sailing centre, and many more fun water sport activities can be found at Brancaster Quay, including orienteering and kayaking. Brancaster Staithe also offers an array of tasty fish and seafood to try.
The best thing about a coastal spot such as Brancaster is that if you spend a week or so here, you also have plenty of time to explore the rest of the Norfolk coast and visit some of the region’s best-loved landmarks and towns, such as nearby King's Lynn, Sandringham Estate, and Holkham Hall.
