Description

2 The Homestead, affectionately known as 'The Homestead'. Situated in a tiny rural hamlet - this property is a perfect mix for quick access to the coast as well as enjoying the countryside. There is plenty to explore. The Homestead is ideal for those who love walking, birdwatching and cycling, all from your doorstep in the heart of Suffolk. Within easy access of Southwold, Minsmere, Dunwich and much more, come and experience this peaceful cottage for yourself.

A more charming and tranquil setting would be hard to find. A quiet country lane leads you through woodland and past open fields to the tiny hamlet of Clay Common. 2 The Homestead is set within a large, lawned garden with private off-street parking. Open the windows to delight in the birdsong. At the end of the day stargazers can view the beauty of the stars as there is no light pollution in Clay Common. 2 The Homestead is a peaceful, homely cottage where the hustle and bustle of everyday life can be put on hold. It has been in the owners' family for 4 generations and has recently been modernised.

Cyclists too will love exploring the network of trails in the area - one in particular which runs outside the property, leads to the Hundred River at Rushmere. A trip along the back roads can even take you to the small town of Halesworth. A full breakdown of cycle routes can be seen here. Southwold 5 miles, Covehithe 4 miles, Dunwich 9 miles and Minsmere 11 miles.

Reviews

We've had a lovely time staying in your delightful cottage. We have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area; gardens, villages, the coast, towns and countryside. The cottage was well equipped and we particularly like the welcome pack. Thank you.

Previous c,

We had a lovely week in this comfy, well equipped cottage. The super-king bed was a major plus! We had lovely, sunny, days out at Southwold and crabbing at Walberswick. Also enjoyed lovely meals at The Five Bells at Wrentham and The Queen's Head in Bramfield was outstanding. Sadly, the local - The Plough - was shut this week.

Past Customer,

Lovely house. Ideal location for beaches and provisions. Morrisons is 15 mins away by car or Co Op at Southwold were both useful. We really enjoyed the Forest at Dunwich after exploring the ruined Abbey and getting fish and chips at the beach cafe. A great holiday despite the cold winds. ps. Cornish Bakery in Southwold do a great pasty for lunch.

Previous c,

Our stay in this beautiful cosy cottage was too short sadly but we enjoyed every minute. Such a well equipped cottage . Southwold was a joy to explore and loved our visit to the Shape Meetings.

Previous c,

Comfortable cottage, well equipped. Great outdoor space in a very peaceful location. Easy to travel to places of interest and only 10 minutes from the nearest beach. Fabulous welcome tray which was much appreciated.
