Reviews

Excellent location for exploring Cornwall beautiful walks even though steep hills. Cottage had everything needed. Ferry over to Fowey great and every 10 mins.

Past Customer,

Basic accommodation but stunning views and great location. Easy parking. No tumble dryer and only one bathroom are the drawbacks to the property.

Mrs M,

We’ve stayed at Lentino three times now and would have no hesitation returning. The house was very clean and looked newly painted. Everything worked and it was good to have such a lot of parking. The view remains a huge draw and is fantastic. We hire a boat each year which means we can easily get about and have lots to do. The easy access to the SW Coast Path makes it a great location for a dog.

Mrs Joanna M,

Location

Polruan's position on a headland jutting out into the estuary meant that it once had great importance as a lookout point.  Now, visitors can share the same commanding views from the headland looking out to sea, and across to Fowey on the far bank.

Up here is also the spectacularly beautiful Headland Garden, which has unexpectedly become known for more exotic flora than you might expect to find in this little corner of Cornwall.  This has allowed it to be discovered and promoted far and wide.

While up here, gazing out into the distance, you may spot sea birds and other wildlife, and maybe even the odd seal.  Much of the area is not only an AONB, but also a Special Area of Conservation, so that it can be preserved for future generations.

Like most villages in the area, the primary industry has always been fishing, however the locals are very welcoming to visitors, and tourism has taken its place.

Walkers will find the landscape to be ideal for hiking, or if you prefer just a gentle stroll, there are lots of options available.  Upon your return, you can relax with a meal or drink in The Lugger Inn, or hop on the ferry and visit one of the pubs or cafes in Fowey.
