"I was born and raised in North Norfolk and returned to my roots in early 2018, as like many others I found it impossible to stay away."
♥ Holkham beach with its unrivalled expanse of sand, sea and sky and the place my husband proposed.
I was born and raised in North Norfolk and returned to my roots in early 2018, as like many others I found it impossible to stay away. Having previously lived and worked in London and Reading, I’ve always felt the pull of the stunning Norfolk countryside and coastline. My weekends are spent with friends in cosy country pubs enjoying the delicious, locally sourced food - The Gunton Arms is a favourite. We regularly take our dog Ned to the wild unspoilt beaches where he can run free no matter what the season. I have a passion for renovating properties, having completed one in Reading and am currently embarking on another more locally, which will eventually be home. My husband and I also enjoy travelling further afield, most recently driving the west coast of America, but it’s always great to come back to Norfolk and enjoy all it has to offer.
"I feel I am very lucky to live in such a beautiful county and to have a job that I enjoy so much."
♥ Norfolk Wildlife Trust Cley marshes reserve in the autumn, when the air is full of the call of the geese
I moved permanently to Norfolk in 2007 from Essex and started working for Norfolk Cottages in the November, I feel I am very lucky to live in such a beautiful county and to have a job that I enjoy so much where I am based in our Holt and Wells-next-the-Sea offices. When not out recruiting beautiful new properties, I enjoy walks along the coast and in the countryside mainly accompanied by husband and Dexter our dog who is a new much-loved member of the family. We also enjoy exploring the gardens and parklands of Blickling Hall and Felbrigg, two local National Trust properties followed by coffee and cake in their tea rooms. I also love a day in Norwich, a beautiful, atmospheric city either on my own or with friends for a spot of retail therapy, a trip to the theatre or to enjoy a meal.
"Living close to the beach in beautiful Norfolk is many peoples dream however I get to ‘live the dream’ for real."
♥ Around the coast at Titchwell spotting the young seal pups in the creeks cut off from the tide.
Living close to the beach in beautiful Norfolk is many peoples dream however I get to ‘live the dream’ for real. My perfect place and where I call home is Heacham, a village close to Hunstanton affectionately known as ‘Sunny Hunny’, where Victorian residences look out to sea esplanade gardens. My perfect place for exploration and relaxation is my local beach with my gorgeous springer spaniel, coupled with relaxing walks with my partner Duncan. Summer evenings the calm waters are a perfect place to enjoy the stunning sunsets whether upon my sea kayak whilst Mylo chases the rolling waves or on the soft sand dunes, glass of bubbles in hand. More energetic days are spent cycling one of the few hills close-by with the reward of sampling the many flavours of Gin at the end of the journey at the Gin Trap Inn in the nearby village of Ringstead.
"I am lucky enough to live in Holt, designated by The Telegraph this year as ‘the stylish town that is making north Norfolk cool again’."
♥ A winter beach walk followed by fish ‘n’ chips at No 1 in Cromer.
I am lucky enough to live in Holt, designated by The Telegraph this year as ‘the stylish town that is making north Norfolk cool again’. With its unique mix of independent shops, fresh food shops and café culture, there’s little need to wander elsewhere. Aside from calling this lovely landmark home, my partner Paul and I like to get out with our cocker spaniel Hector, for walks both coastal and countryside. Wells-next-the-Sea, one of our top places to roam is a classic setting of far-reaching sandy beaches, sand dunes and pine woods and Hector’s favourite place for dashing about! Blickling Hall is another, with a huge park and acres to explore and there is always something interesting going on here and a little closer to home is Sheringham Park, with wide open vistas down to the coast, where we often catch a glimpse of the steam train running through.
