Dog Friendly Cottages in Lancashire

Lancashire with its wide open spaces of moorland and forest is a perfect place to take your best friend on holiday. Enjoy long muddy walks in the fresh air then retreat at the end of the day, tired but happy, to your cosy pet-friendly cottage.

Lancashire has a variety of places ideal for walking your dog, from wild and muddy to proper paths through woodland only needing walking boots and enthusiasm. There are also dog-friendly beaches, pubs and cafes that are happy to welcome your four-legged friend.

For long walks there is the Forest of Bowland, an area of barren, gritstone fells and peat moorland perfect for either a family stroll or more challenging hikes. For an off-the-lead excursion visit popular Tandle Hill Country Park, with its steep hill walks, cafe and toilets, or take a 45-minute circular walk around Hurstwood Reservoir, ideal for throwing balls into the water! For a leg stretch in more formal surroundings look no further than the splendid Lytham Hall, a Georgian country house set in 78 acres of parkland where dogs are welcome on a lead in both the grounds and cafe, or enjoy the waterfall at Healey Dell nature reserve.

If a splash along the shoreline is your pet's idea of doggie heaven, there are four dog-friendly beaches along the Lancastrian coastline; choose from sandy Heysham, or Hest Bank, on the edge of Morecambe Bay, the salt marshes of Pilling Sands, and Bispham, just a stone's throw from Blackpool. Enjoy a scamper in and out of the waves followed by a recuperating pint in the local pub or fish and chips along the seafront.

Take a look at our pet-friendly cottages, we have barn conversions, detached houses many with large gardens and set in beautiful countryside just waiting for you and your pet to explore.
