Description
Fell View is a beautifully converted 17th-century farmhouse, lovingly restored keeping many original features, oak beams, Lakeland slate floors and exposed brick walls. The house is steeped in history being once owned by the cousin of William Wordsworth, who has been said to have visited the property and the adjoining Chapel.
You enter the house from the covered porch area which leads directly into the well equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Slate floors and oak beams start here and continue throughout the ground floor where you have a large lounge and dining area with a fantastic fireplace and log burner. This room is spacious and full of character and is is a perfect setting to relax and converse with your holiday companions.
The ground floor also has a walk-in shower and wet room, tiled throughout and finished to a high quality.
The upstairs room has the two king size beds with a sliding door separating the two rooms, perfect as a family room or using the door, the room can be split off into two separate bedrooms (you will still have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other), this open space also has the magnificent bathroom with standalone bath with views across the fells, perfect for a long relaxing soak at the end of the day.
Fell View is extremely dog-friendly (and horse) and there is even a little treat for your 4 legged friends on arrival.
Outside, there is an enclosed seating area and guests are encouraged to explore the 5 acres of garden and woodland in which it is located. There are delightful views of the Whicham Valley, Black Combe Fell and even the start of the Coniston Fells. There are also many walks straight from your door and the coastline and the dog-friendly beach of Silecroft is just over a mile away.
Fellview is a truly impressive cottage in a stunning location, quiet, peaceful yet a perfect base to explore the Southern Lake District.
Fellview can be booked with the neighbouring property Po House Chapel a lovely converted chapel sleeping 2. (GL095)
