Fell View is a beautifully converted 17th-century farmhouse, lovingly restored keeping many original features, oak beams, Lakeland slate floors and exposed brick walls. The house is steeped in history being once owned by the cousin of William Wordsworth, who has been said to have visited the property and the adjoining Chapel.
You enter the house from the covered porch area which leads directly into the well equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Slate floors and oak beams start here and continue throughout the ground floor where you have a large lounge and dining area with a fantastic fireplace and log burner. This room is spacious and full of character and is is a perfect setting to relax and converse with your holiday companions.
The ground floor also has a walk-in shower and wet room, tiled throughout and finished to a high quality.
The upstairs room has the two king size beds with a sliding door separating the two rooms, perfect as a family room or using the door, the room can be split off into two separate bedrooms (you will still have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other), this open space also has the magnificent bathroom with standalone bath with views across the fells, perfect for a long relaxing soak at the end of the day.
Fell View is extremely dog-friendly (and horse) and there is even a little treat for your 4 legged friends on arrival.
Outside, there is an enclosed seating area and guests are encouraged to explore the 5 acres of garden and woodland in which it is located. There are delightful views of the Whicham Valley, Black Combe Fell and even the start of the Coniston Fells. There are also many walks straight from your door and the coastline and the dog-friendly beach of Silecroft is just over a mile away.
Fellview is a truly impressive cottage in a stunning location, quiet, peaceful yet a perfect base to explore the Southern Lake District.
Fellview can be booked with the neighbouring property Po House Chapel a lovely converted chapel sleeping 2. (GL095)
Beautiful property, very well looked after and exceptionally clean. Louise is an excellent host and was always on hand if we had a question. There are great local beaches, lots of walks, and the nearest lakes are only half an hour away. Fantastic holiday!
A comfy property in a rural location. Well equipped. Good walks on the doorstep. Very friendly, helpful owner. Shops, and beach a short drive away.
A quieter side of the Lakes, which was what we were after. Comfortable, relaxing and peaceful.
This is a truly wonderful property in a wonderful location. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. We cannot recommend the property highly enough. We will be returning very soon.
We loved Fell View (and Chapel Po, next door, which we booked as well for the five of us). It was a perfect location for visiting family nearby. The views were fantastic. Really stylish decor and furnishings. Louise was a great host. We will definitely be back! Thank you
