For more extensive shopping opportunities the Royal Tunbridge Wells is a short drive away.  You can follow the local footpaths through the parkland to nearby All Saints Tudeley Church with its glorious stained glass windows designed by Marc Chagall or visit the nearby Bewl Water for sailing and windsurfing, and Bedgebury Forest to experience Go Ape or off road cycling. The area is also known for its abundance of National Trust Properties such as the gorgeous gardens of Sissinghurst or the historic estates of Penshurst and Chartwell.
