This stylish and modern little gem has everything you could wish for in a holiday property.  It has been converted with great flair and attention to detail and offers spacious accommodation for both families and couples looking to holiday in this lovely part of Kent right in the heart of the Garden of England.  It is located on a well cared for smallholding with pet Kunekune pigs and the property is only a short walk across footpaths to Frittenden which has a good local pub.  The Milking Parlour is in the rural Kent countryside but is only 3 miles from Staplehurst with good rail links to London. The property offers a spacious open plan living area with a cosy wood burning stove and doors opening on to an enclosed courtyard with comfy garden furniture.  There is a separate well equipped kitchen and both bedrooms have their own en-suite shower rooms.  There is a bedroom on the ground floor making this property suitable for guests with impaired mobility. The property is perfectly located to visit the many National trust properties in the area, the beautiful gardens at Sissinghurst Castle, the medieval Castles of Bodiam, Hever and Leeds. There are many vineyards to visit and sample delicious ciders and sparkling wines at the Balfour Winery, Biddenden Vineyard and Chapel Down Vineyard. The nearby towns of Maidstone, Tenterden and Tunbridge Wells offer excellent shopping opportunities and great bars, restaurants and cafes. Close by is the stunning sandy beach at Camber near the medieval town of Rye famous for its antique shops. Canterbury is within an easy drive and also Whitstable, famous for its oysters.

As this is a small working farm children should be supervised at all times.  The owner is happy to organise a farm tour for children to see the animals.  It is a small farm with pet Kunekune pigs which can be petted and approximately 3 cows and 1 bull, 26 ewes, 2 rams and 40 lambs.  The animals are housed over winter in a byre in the farm yard so there can be some noise during feeding time.  There are also 450 free range turkeys.  Meat products can be purchased from the owner subject to availability.

This is a lovely cottage, well appointed. on a small working farm. The owners are present on the farm and are a lovely friendly couple. The cottage is ideally located to access all that mid Kent has to offer, which is plenty, but in a rural, peaceful location. The local pub is in easy walking distance and is very pleasant.

Mr A,

The Milking Parlour is a perfect location to discover Kent. It is very rural but you can still walk to the village pub. The cottage is extremely well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches such as milk, juice, coffee, tea etc everything was of the highest quality. There is a lovely patio area which is perfect for a leisurely breakfast or a glass of wine before dinner. There was plenty room for 4 adults to enjoy a midweek break.

Mrs R,

Delightful, well appointed, friendly owners. Wonderful holiday. Wouldn’t hesitate to return

Mrs D,

A fantastic property in a beautiful location. The hosts were amazing and really helpful to all our questions and requests. The photos do not do this amazing place the justice it deserves. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to visit the area.

Mr M,

Lovely property, spotlessly clean. Very well equipped. The owners of the property live on site, they are very welcoming but leave you to enjoy your holiday. Great location for many National Trust properties. Lovely walk across the fields to the Bell & Jorrocks pub providing good food. An enjoyable place to holiday. Lots of information provided by the holiday company.

Mrs W,

A wonderful home from home, well thought out accommodation and well equipped. Delightful to stay somewhere so quiet and relaxing. The location is great for visiting so many varied and lovely places, Sissinghurst, Bateman's, Biddenden vineyard, Hush Heath. We enjoyed seeing the 3 day old turkey chicks and meet the pigs. Thank you for the friendly reception on arrival and the help during our stay. Many thanks.

Lisa R,

What a delightful place to stay on our first visit away after many months of lockdown! The cottage is beautifully equipped and we were made to feel very welcome. We had some beautiful weather and went to Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst Gardens and Leeds Castle at their glorious best. We can also recommend a lovely flat walk across the salt marshes from Rye Harbour to Rye via Camber Castle. Good footpaths and lovely wild flowers. Many thanks.

Previous Customer,

Thank you for your hospitality and for the welcome gifts left in the fridge. We have very much enjoyed our stay at The Milking Parlour and Kent, so much to do and to see - great weather too!

The C,

The Milking Parlour is finished to a very high standard and is very well-equipped. It made a wonderful home-from-home for 4 adults to explore the surrounding countryside and to relax in a peaceful location. We were warmly welcomed by the owners and they were on hand to deal with any problems. We enjoyed meeting some of the animals and learning more about the farm. The parlour is located in a quiet rural setting with easy access to many great days out; castles, gardens and wineries.

Mrs R,

We had a wonderful week staying at The Milking Parlour. The property was spotless and very comfortable. Located in rural Kent, it was perfect for the National Trust and English Heritage places we wanted to visit.

Mrs B,

We had a lovely stay at the Milking Parlour! The property couldn’t have been cleaner and had everything we needed. Our daughters loved the animals and were thrilled that a calf was born whilst we were there. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Very nearby to Sissinghurst and nice local walks. A much needed break after lockdown and enjoyed by all!

Mrs M,
