Description

This lovely cottage takes its name from the Woodpecker who visits almost daily, just one of many types of bird which live in the garden and surrounding woodland.  Within the North York Moors National Park and on the edge of the popular moorland village of Hutton-le-Hole, this is a fantastic location for walkers, cyclists and wildlife enthusiasts.  Footpaths and bridleways link the property to the nearby villages of Appleton-le-Moors and Gillamoor and the market town of Kirkbymoorside, and the owners (who live next door) provide maps and are happy to advise on the best routes and places to visit. The Yorkshire Coast, York and the Yorkshire Wolds are within easy reach for a day out.

The cottage is a converted barn and retains a great deal of its old character and charm with exposed beams and feature stonework.  Visitors are sure to appreciate the tasteful decoration and comfortable furnishings in this well-equipped property.  There is a  private garden with bench overlooking the wooded valley, providing exceptional peace and quiet for a relaxing holiday.

Reviews

Property handily placed for visiting the North Yorks Moors Railway, Ryedale Folk Museum and nearby National Trust properties. Local walking possibilities accessible. .Property owners very friendly and also had helpful suggestions on local amenities.

Mr U,

Woodpecker Cottage is a perfect location for two people looking to spend time exploring North Yorkshire. It is comfortable and quiet bet perhaps a little isolated from the nearest village of Hutton-le-Hole.

Mr H,

Location chosen as cottage central for the area we wished to visit and cottage and location did not disappoint.

Mr Patrick H,

Clean, well equipped, superb location. Only minor detail:on booking it said there was a tumble dryer and there wasn't.

Mrs Monique V,

Lovely cottage. Owners very nice people. Had a very quiet and peaceful weekend.

Mrs Christine C,

The cottage was lovely and the owners were very friendly but the cottage would benefit from having WiFi.
