Reviews

Really well equipped cottage right in the centre of Swanage. The accommodation was perfect for us. The cottage was clean and fresh. Very good all round!

Mrs M,

We have stayed at Cutter on numerous occasions and have already booked to return in October. It was nice to see the bathroom had been refreshed and new stools in the kitchen. It is a lovely cottage and would highly recommend it.

Mrs D,

We had a lovely stay at cottage celebrating my mum’s birthday. The cottage is beautifully decorated and was the perfect getaway for a long weekend. Lots of lovely costal walks near by and the town centre has some useful shops for getting any supplies you might need. We stayed towards the end of October when it was quite cold outside but the cottage had a great heating system so we were very toasty! We would definitely recommend a stay a the cottage.

Miss H,

Great location, such easy access to the beach, the shops, the steam train and lovely walks.

Mrs C,

A charming property in a very good location, just yards from the sea, shops and an excellent fish and chip shop - you can look out of the front door to see if there's a queue! The Ship Inn is next door but one and there are other pubs in the locality so some nights you can hear noisy revellers into the early hours. It didn't really bother me. The key safe is by the back door which is up some rather deep stone steps and along the paved patio area. Once inside the cottage you'll find the front door key and when going out walking it's much easier to use the front door. The paved patio area is a real sun trap all morning and until mid afternoon and surprisingly peaceful considering the proximity of the Ship Inn. The kitchen is well equipped with easy to use microwave and cooker. However the baking trays in the oven looked very unappetizing and the hob well used. Two sofas in the open plan living area . The TV is a little small . But all in all it's a pleasant place to sit and relax. The bedrooms are cosy, beds clean and comfortable and there are nice white towels. There are not wardrobes as such but a rail with hangers high up in the airing cupboard in the main bedroom and just two hooks on the back of the door in the other bedroom. The bathroom is well appointed with an excellent shower over the P shaped bath. There is a garage only suitable for a small car but this is a useful storage space for other items you don't need to take into the cottage. Would I stay there again? Yes.

Miss A,

property tv was disappointing. Also we had a problem with the key on leaving - tried twice to contact you by phone - no reply

Mr Ivor H,

Cutter Cottage is very comfortable. The location is great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lack of a parking space (unless you have a small car) is a minor inconvenience, but broad road car park is 2 minutes walk away and met our needs. However, the £40 charge to park for the week is a bit steep and at busy times it is not easy to find a space. The only other issue we had was the lack of detail relating to the televisions. These have built in dvd players but they are not 'smart' and do not have hdmi, so we were not able to stream films etc. This information would be useful for guests in advance. Better still, my suggestion would be that the owners upgrade to smart units. We were lucky with the weather but if it had been a wet week entertaining our children in the cottage would have been a challenge. These are minor gripes, on the whole it was a nice place to stay and we would recommend it.

Mr Paul A,
