Reviews

Warm, comfortable and child friendly. Well situated particularly for the coast, pub and a lot of things to do.

Dr G,

Beautiful and very spacious cottage, well equipped and comfortable. Can recommend the White Horse for delicious food, which is reasonably priced. Surrounding countryside is picturesque, especially the views across the Fleet. Owner was welcoming and helpful.

Mrs P,

We absolutely loved our stay at Rainbow Cottage. It's a very comfortable and homely yet spacious cottage. The rooms are a good size and are well furnished. The kitchen is well equipped but you will need to get to grips with using an Aga. I cooked everyday and soon got the hang of it. There are plenty of books, DVDs, CDs and board games should you need to be entertained during the unpredictable English weather. The location is idyllic and very quiet apart from the local roosters who see it as their duty to wake you at dawn, but we soon got used to them. We would happily return.

Mr B,

The host/owner of Rainbow Cottage (Caroline) was absolutely lovely. From the booking date, accommodating us for last minute changes of plan and then all the useful information, I would recommend the property for that level of service alone! The lovely thatched roof cottage had everything you needed for a week away and all in good and clean condition. Beds were comfortable, showers were very powerful and the garden surrounding the house was a great place to relax at the end of the day. Litton Cheney village is very quaint with a lovely fresh water spring running through it (although maybe not so fresh when our springer spaniel jumped in it everyday!). The local pub (White Horse) was really good too - live band on a Sunday afternoon, good food and great staff. Highly recommend for exploring Dorset.

Past Customer,

Very well equipped and accurate write up. Cleanliness good, just very warm due to the Aga. Squeaky doors, oiled by my husband. Shame we couldn't use the front door, as we kept dogs in the utility room.

Mrs Jane M,

Really excellent cottage in a great location. Very welcoming and well equipped. Main bedroom mattress could perhaps do with being replaced, but other than that, all great.

Mr Stephen S,

We have had the most wonderful holiday in Rainbow Cottage. It was clean, warm and inviting, with a great garden for the dogs to potter around in. It is in the middle of Weymouth of Lyme Regis, so we were able to do it all. The nearest shops are most likely in Bridport, but there is also a couple of petrol stations nearby too. Not to mention Modbury Farm shop. Would also recommend the White Horse Inn pub, best food we've ever had, and the locals were so friendly. We will most definitely be back. Will just say, in the description on Original Cottages it says there is a queen-sized bed in the room with the en-suite. It is in fact a double bed, we believe the queen-sized bed is in the other room.

Mr Stephen H,
