Description

Herbert's Place has been recently refurbished to a high standard and offers a comfortable and welcoming base to explore the beautiful Isle of Purbeck, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, private parking and secure rear garden; all within a 5 minute walk of the town centre, Durlston Country Park and sandy beach. A light and airy living room has been thoughtfully decorated with local artwork, comfortable seating, large Smart TV with Free view, plus there’s plenty of books and games for the whole family to enjoy.

A fire surround with gas fire creates a cosy atmosphere to snuggle up on cooler evenings and the tall sash windows offer seasonal sea views.

The well-equipped, stylish and modern kitchen offers plenty of space to cook. There’s a dining table that can be extended, and rear door that leads onto the low maintenance garden which has been laid to patio and shingle. Garden chairs and tables are provided, and the fully fenced space helps creates a secure area for children to play safely.

Upstairs there’s a twin bedroom overlooking the garden, (the beds can also be joined together to create a super king bed; please advise bed make up when booking), the master bedroom has a 4 poster bed with seasonal sea views and en-suite shower room plus a separate family bathroom with shower over bath. Overlooking the stairs lives Herbert the moose head, our fabric friend and property’s namesake!

There’s plenty to do nearby without needing to use your car. Close to Herberts Place lies the beautiful Durlston Country and Nature Reserve with access to the South West Coastal Path and the iconic Jurassic Coastline.

A 5 minute walk down the road will lead you straight into Swanage Town Centre; with its mix of independent shops, galleries and cafes there’s something for everyone of all ages. The sheltered sandy bay is great for family seaside activities. Step back in time and catch a steam train to the historic ruins of Corfe Castle, or take a trip on The Waverley; the world’s last working paddle steamer from the Victorian pier and view the stunning coastline in all its glory.

Bedrooms: 1) king size 4 poster bed with ‘Simba’ Hybrid memory foam mattress and en suite shower room 2) 2 x 3ft single beds that can be joined together; please inform us of bed make up when booking. Both bedrooms have roman blinds and blackout blinds fitted for guests’ comfort.

Bathrooms: family bathroom with large shower, W.C. basin and heated towel rail plus en-suite shower room.

Kitchen/diner: electric oven and gas hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, Dualit toaster, DAB radio and USB sockets. Dining table that seats 4 plus can also be extended and door to rear garden.

Living room: large 3 seater sofa with coordinating foot stool plus additional armchairs, large Smart TV,with Freeview, games and books, electric fire and seasonal sea views.

Garden: garden furniture of wooden table, 4 chairs and bench. Also outside washing line is available for guest use.

Linen & towels provided: please bring your own beach towels

We had a wonderful stay at Herbert's place Highlights; a very well stocked kitchen, the awning in the garden , very handy to put laundry under in case of rain. Brilliant books, Quick access to Durlston County park for running around and wonderful views. It has been a very easy place to live in for a week and it was always nice knowing we were coming back to here after a day of advertnuring

Herbert's Place was a lovely property. The decor was very smart, clean and 'seasidey.' The kitchen was well equipped. There was even a steamer which is very rare in holiday lets. Good washing line for drying swimming stuff! Comfortable beds and peaceful location close to the town centre and sea. Great little courtyard with a shelter awning over the table and chairs if needed. All the crockery and cooking utensils seemed new, and in very good condition, as were the furnishings. Quality Bosch cooker and hob, and very new dishwasher too. The parking space is a real bonus in Swanage. But you don't need a car once you're there. Short walk into town, paths to Durlston, and along the coast. And from the town there's the steam train to Corfe Castle. We'd recommend the Breezer buses too. Wrap up warm though on the top deck if you are coming back later!

We've had a great time in Herbert's place. Such a well equipped place. Very relaxing. Lovely decor and lights in the kitchen , natural wood etc. A good location and great to have parking,. Comfortable beds - we all slept all well We recommmend the breezer bus and the steam train.

This is a very nice property and is decorated and fitted out to a very high standard. The owners have thought of everything down to the washing up liquid. The small rear garden is compact and tidy with table and chairs . Also there is a parasol with garden chairs to enjoy the sun in peace.
