Access Statement

This conversion of a former farm building is mostly single storey, one of a group of cottages in a 'courtyard' setting. Parking is in a shared parking area close to the cottage. The main access door from the paved patio area leads direct into the living room, up one small step. There is a picnic bench to the front of the cottage, with small lawned area. The open-plan living room has oak flooring and high beamed ceiling, magnolia painted brick and stone walls; lounge area with large L-shaped leather sofa, remote control TV and DVD player; dining table and six chairs; fitted kitchen area to one side with white units and black worktops. There are spotlights and wall lights. There are two ground floor bedrooms. The double and single bedrooms are carpeted, have magnolia emulsion walls and beamed ceilings, cream fitted wardrobe units, ceiling spotlights and bedside reading lights. From the living room, a narrow wooden staircase, with banister to the right, rises to a gallery bedroom looking down over the living room, with low sloping beamed ceiling giving limited headroom, two single beds, white emulsion decor, and spotlighting. The bathroom (ground floor) also has a tiled floor, fully tiled walls in pale pastel shade, white bathroom suite, with electric power shower over the bath. Beamed ceiling and a shaver light over the mirror above the basin. Across the courtyard there is a shared laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer and shared freezer (there is also a washing machine and fridge/freezer in the cottage).

Reviews

Thank you very much for such a wonderful stay. What a beautiful place, lovely people, very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Will definitely book up for next year. Thank you again so much.

Ms Andrea B,

Thank you for providing such a wonderful holiday cottage. A total home from home, and lacked nothing! We absolutely love Pembrokeshire, but this has been the best location ever! So much to explore. We've been here two weeks and been somewhere different every day, and not let the dubious weather stop us. Every beach is magical. We will no doubt be back. Thank you for being so friendly and welcoming and especially accepting of children. Fabulous facilities for children - they really have been spoilt!

Mrs Laura H,

We were very impressed with Swallow Cottage in terms of facilities, cleanliness and comfort. Warm, welcoming and we were never without. It was perfect to come back to at the end of a long, tiring wet day! The host welcomed us with a generous hospitality tray with snacks as well as drinks. Hand soap, washing liquid and laundry liquid are all provided. The tumble dryer is communal and there's a little extra charge when used, but the communal washing line can be used on dry days. The carpark is along the drive as you come in, so it's a short walk to get to the cottages but a pull-alone wagon is available for you to pile your luggage into. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots/pans and knives that are actually sharp! There were even plastic bowls etc for the kids. The photos of the children's play area on this website don't do it justice - there's a wendy house, pirate ship, a selection of ride-on cars/tractors - all in an area safely gated away from the carpark. Probably suited up to age 5 or 6, but there's a larger climbing frame in the back garden for older ones. There's literally a shed full of toys/games for visitors to borrow, including beach toys and windbreakers. The owner lives onsite and was friendly and quickly available to help when we had questions. The location was ideal as it was only about 30mins drive to beaches and attractions either north or south Pembs, with a Tesco Extra only 5 mins drive away. We liked Tenby (larger choice of ice cream and fish/chip vendors!) And Heatherton world of activities was an excellent alternative to all the beaches. Haverfordwest itself has a castle and museum but currently closed.

Mrs G,

Ideally placed for trips to Northern and Southern Pembrokeshire. Lovely outdoor space with loads for toddlers and younger children to do and play with. Very quiet and serene. Hosts were very warm and welcoming.
