Description

Bryn Gwynedd Annexe is in the small village of Waunfawr, at the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, just a scenic 6 miles from the start of the footpaths or train up Snowdon. This good value accommodation makes an ideal spot from which to explore the area. There is a popular pub with microbrewery, which also serves food, about half a mile walk away. Caernarfon is only 3 miles away, with its stunning castle and Welsh Highland Railway. The nearest beach at Dinas Dinlle is 7 miles away and Anglesey just 10 miles.

‘watch the trains of the Welsh Highland Railway go by from the beer garden of Snowdonia Parc real ale pub and microbrewery. This award-winning pub is right by the river and serves food as well’ from Jacky, our local property manager.

The Cottage: is spacious for two people and mostly on one level apart from a small step at the entrance. Heating by wall mounted electric heaters.

Living Room/Kitchen: this open plan room has comfortable seating, Freeview TV and DVD; WiFi; small table and chairs for two.

Kitchen Area: is equipped with an electric oven and electric hob with extractor over, fridge with ice box and microwave.

There is one ground floor bedroom accessed through a spacious corridor where any excess luggage could be stored.

Bedroom: has a king size bed and plenty of storage.

Shower Room: is a newly refurbished shower room with shower cubicle, WC and basin.

Outside: there is a grassed area with table and chairs and views of surrounding mountains. Plenty of private parking.

The village of Llanrug, 4 miles away, has another local pub serving good food, an award-winning butcher and little bakery hidden away near Bryn Bras Castle; also a good Co-Op store for provisions. There is plenty of walking from the door up the outlying hills of Snowdonia, and a stop on the Welsh Highland Railway within walking distance (about a mile). There is good road and mountain biking locally and the annexe is on one of the popular circular routes around Snowdon. The nearby Chwellyn valley has a wonderfully scenic lake, superb for taking photographs, and this leads to the popular village of Beddgelert, passing two of the starting points for footpaths up Snowdon. Many of Snowdonia’s most popular tourist attractions are within a short distance, making Bryn Gwynedd Annexe a good location for a fantastic holiday.

Reviews

Very good location for getting around. Shop, pub, restaurant, and beach all within easy reach. Very nice.

Miss B,

Just like home, ideal location for Eryri.

Mr V,

Good value for money and great central location for sightseeing and walking.

Mr K,

Cleaned to perfection, everything ready to start our holiday. Great location for all that Snowdonia offers. Friendly owners who prepared the perfect base.

Mr Alan S,

The Annexe was small but perfectly formed! The only thing that was missing was a washing machine. The location was excellent, within walking distance of a convenience store, a pub (that served food most days), an hourly bus service and the steam train. In addition, there are lots of great places to visit not far away.

Mrs J,

Very happy with all aspects of our stay

Rev Peter S,
