Description

In a truly fabulous, idyllic rural location, Ty Rowan is nestled high above the Conwy Valley in the Snowdonia National Park. With walking, mountain biking and watersports on your doorstep this is the kind of place where adventures begin! The cottage has many original features such as the beams and fireplace, and also benefits from a private enclosed patio area next to a little stream. The small village of Trefriw is just over 2 miles away with a village store, award winning butcher selling superb pies, good cafes, a pub and restaurant. The market town of Llanrwst is 3 miles away for further amenities. Betws-y-Coed is 5 miles away, Zip World Forest 6 miles and Surf Snowdonia 5 miles. Access to the Gwydir Mawr & Bach mountain bike trails can be accessed from the door.

The Cottage: is a detached stone cottage, full of character. The friendly owners live close by and are on hand to help you make the most of your holiday. Ty Rowan is in a really beautiful area, up single-track roads and down a short track. Oil central heating.

The Living Room: entrance is into the living room from the covered porch area. The main feature is the fireplace with wood burning stove (initial logs provided) also a modern L shaped sofa bed (for additional sleeping arrangements) and armchair, smart TV, Freesat and WiFi.

The Kitchen Dining Room: this spacious beamed room has a wooden table and chairs with small display dresser in the dining area. The modern kitchen area has a fully fitted kitchen with integrated appliances including an electric oven and ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washer dryer. A patio door leads to the garden area.

Stairs lead from the dining area to the first floor where there are two bedrooms, the third single bedroom is on the ground floor.

Bedroom 1: is in the eaves and is furnished in a simple modern style with painted floorboards with a rug over, built in storage cubes, and a comfortable kingsize bed. Colourful woollen throws and cushions from the working woollen mill in nearby Trefiw are used to adorn all the bedrooms.

Bedroom 2: is a double bedroom tucked under the eaves with a low bed and some restricted head space. Again, it has a painted wooden floor with rug over and cube storage. Both bedrooms share a wardrobe area above the stairs.

Bedroom 3: is a pretty little room, with a full sized single bed, which leads off the ground floor living area.

Additional sleeping space is available on the double sofa bed in the lounge by arrangement.

Bathroom: the modern ground floor shower room has a tiled floor and smart double sized walk in shower with large shower head. Heated towel rail.

Outside: the cottage has a large porch area with roof over which is ideal for storing bikes and drying kit. Secure bike storage is also available by arrangement. The enclosed patio area is to the rear of the property and has garden furniture and a barbecue. Plenty of parking available and room for boats, canoes etc if required.

Llyn Gerionydd is a stroll away for watersports and lake side walks, around a miles' walk away is Llyn Crafnant for further walking and fishing, a permit can be bought from the lovely little lakeside café. The village of Trefriw, just down the road, has a working woollen mill open to the public where the blankets used to furnish the cottage are made. The popular village of Betws-y-Coed is known as the ‘Gateway to Snowdonia’ and is busy throughout the year with its outdoor gear shops, bike hire and picturesque walking by the river. For adventure seekers both Zip World Forest and Surf Snowdonia are close by. Reviews

Lovely warm, dry and comfortable cottage in a beautiful location. We stayed a week at Ty Rowan in wet and windy February, and it was great to be in a cottage that was warm from the moment we arrived. The location was fantastic, especially with such wild weather, and we enjoyed lots of walks straight out of the front door, as well as in the wider area. We particularly enjoyed the dark and the quiet at night. We would stay again.

Dr T,

Beautiful cottage and setting. Loved the welcome basket. Really peaceful. Can’t wait to go back.

Mr W,

Excellent holiday our cottage was fantastic highly recommended! Marianne was a brilliant host she was so helpful and her homemade bread was sooo yummy. Thank you for such a fabulous week!

Mrs Jane M,

We were highly delighted with the property, it was in a lovely location. The property was warm, cosy and had everything we needed. The Owners were very helpful and closeby if needed. A very enjoyable stay.

Miss S S,

We stayed for 7 days and would have expected more than 1 shower towel each. The shower towels also did not smell fresh so we had to share one. We would have expected there to be kitchen roll comparing to other properties. Apart from that, we had a lovely stay, enjoyed ourselves, in a clean and peaceful house.

Mr Jonathan R,
