Access Statement

One of two almost identical cottages formerly being old farm outbuildings. The cottage is situated on a level courtyard, half slate chippings, half concrete drive. There are no steps into the cottage and the minimum width of the front door is at least 700mm which leads straight into the entrance hall. All accommodation is on the ground floor. All access doors are suitable for wheelchairs and there are no internal steps. The decor throughout is pale and with plenty of natural light. The lounge/diner is uncluttered and has plenty of room to manoeuvre a wheelchair. There is a cordless kettle. The TV, DVD and Freeview all have remote control. Bedrooms are well lit with extra bedside lights and plenty of room for wheelchair access. The bathroom has a low level WC, sink, bath with hand rails and a separate shower. There is also a light and shaving point above the sink. Outside there is a patio with patio furniture and stunning views over the surrounding countryside and the Snowdon range.

Description

Y Beudy is a tastefully converted single storey cottage (see also WAG431), near the owners' farmhouse. This fabulous location between the sea and the mountains gives  great open views of the Snowdon range and Anglesey. Situated between village and marina at Port Dinorwig (Y Felinheli) and the university town of Bangor, about 3 miles from both and a short drive, 6 miles to Caernarfon for the historic castle and Welsh Highland railway.

A good standard of decor and furnishings is maintained throughout this cottage. The open plan living/dining room and kitchen has leather style sofas, a woodburner, TV/DVD and Freeview. The fitted kitchen diner has a tiled floor with a table and chairs, and includes a washing machine. There are two nicely presented bedrooms; the twin has a small TV whilst the double has matching pine furniture. The tiled bathroom has a separate shower cubicle. Oil central heating under the owners' control. An open patio to the front has superb views and garden furniture.

This area is excellent for all sorts of outdoor activities. Llanberis is 5 miles away at the foot of Snowdon for walking and for the Mountain and Lake Railway, Padarn lake for watersports and the National Slate Museum. The famous ZipWorld zip wire is also 5 miles away at Bethesda. The National Trust's Penrhyn Castle and Plas Newydd are both a short drive away along with the fabulous sandy beaches of Anglesey. The University City of Bangor has a Victorian pier, shops, cafes and smart new cinema and theatre.

Reviews

Y Beuddy is in an ideal location for many attractions. The cottage was warm (even without the log burner), comfortable and quiet. The views are wonderful, especially watching the sun set. The little gifts left by the owners are a lovely welcoming touch. We will definitely be returning.

Mrs T,

Great cottage, brilliant location! Open countryside all around with views of Snowdonia, but only a few miles from town, shops, restaurants and transport links. Lots to see and do nearby, Anglesey was a highlight for me with lovely deserted beaches and sea swimming. Loved it here and would return in a heartbeat.
