Access Statement

This 150 year old end of terrace cottage has its sole access directly off the narrow highway approach and it is usually possible to park right outside for disembarkation and off-loading. The premises are not accessible by wheelchair and are unsuitable in other respects for those with any significant degree of mobility disability.

Space is at a premium within the building and the entrance hallway is narrow; as is the galley style kitchen with small dining area on the right. On the left there is a toilet, washbasin and shower room which is accessed by way of a small step down from the hallway. Also on the left, and likewise entered via a small step down, is a twin-bedded room, which additionally contains a remote control TV with Freeview and DVD.

The stairs are narrow and quite steep with a right angle turn to the left near to the top. There is a handrail on the right-hand side, just alongside the primary ascent to the turn. The short landing leads straight to a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom which comprises of toilet, washbasin and bath with shower unit and is relatively spacious. The sitting-room, which is ahead from the top of the stairs, accommodates two small 'TV chairs' and two small armchairs plus a capacious bed-settee. It is equipped with a further remote control television with Freeview. 

Description

Glandon is a traditional white seaside property enjoying a magnificent position next to the beach in the deservedly popular village of Aberdaron, at the very tip of the Lleyn Peninsula. Enjoy stepping out straight onto the beach, take walks along the coastal path or stroll a few hundred meters to the two lovely seaside pubs, pizza/ice cream shack (seasonal), tea rooms and award-winning fish and chip shop. Day trips to Bardsey Island can be taken from the nearby cove. 11 miles from Abersoch, 16 miles from Pwllheli.

The Cottage: is at the end of a pretty row of cottages and is simply furnished throughout.

Sitting Room: is on the first floor to make the most of the stunning sea views from the large picture window. This recently refurbished room has simple painted walls, practical laminate flooring, sofas (including a sofa bed) and easy chairs. Freeview TV and WiFi.

Kitchen Diner: with a pretty little dining area and compact hand made galley kitchen, integrated electric cooker and hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer and tumble dryer. The kitchen is well kitted out for self-catering.

Ground Floor shower room: with shower cubicle with electric shower, heated towel rail, WC and basin.

There are two bedrooms, one on the ground floor the other en suite on the first floor

Ground floor twin bedroom: with two single beds, storage and dressing table, TV and DVD

First floor double: with en suite bathroom, wardrobe and storage

En suite: with bath with shower over, WC, basin and heated towel rail

Outside:  Glandon has its own little shed storing a wind break, deck chairs, sun loungers and buckets and spades.

Parking: is available at the side of the cottage, marked on the wall. Please ensure access to the neighbours property by leaving space for their entrance between your parking spot and their wall. Park close to the wall, leaving enough room for cars to pass into their courtyard. If you have a larger vehicle or can’t provide ample space, please use the national trust car park in the village. The lovely little village of Aberdaron has a stunning beach and promenade, award winning bars, a thatched village bakery, cafes and a fish and chip shop selling locally caught seafood. The Wales Coast Pa

th is on your doorstep with walks in both directions.  The National Trust has a fabulous visitor/interpretation centre, Porth Y Swnt, by the beach, and kayak trips running from Whitsun through the summer months. Watersports are very popular at Aberdaron, with golf and fishing also available at Pwllheli. The popular seaside town of Abersoch is 10 miles away and the famous castle at Criccieth 25 miles. A scenic drive of 30-50 miles will take you to the Snowdonia National Park, an area of stunning natural beauty with a wealth of visitor attractions such as the Welsh Highland Railway, Caernarfon Castle and Zip World aerial zip wire.
