Access Statement

This is a typical 200 year old terraced cottage recently renovated with access directly off the slip road with 4 steps to the front door. Parking is available opposite in the public house car park. For unloading you may pull up outside the house before parking. To the rear there is a flight of some 10 steps up to a patio area, we think this would probably be unsuitable for both the infirm and unsupervised toddlers. On the ground floor, the sitting room and kitchen are uncluttered but the connecting door is quite low. The staircase (which rises in the sitting room) has a turn near the top and a handrail on the left side. The main bedroom is to the left directly at the top of the stairs, the sole shower room/WC is along a corridor at the far end and the second bedroom is at the same level. A child safety gate is fixed at the top of the stairs. Walls throughout are all pale colours with the exception of the main bedroom, the doors and frames are white. Lighting is good throughout. The TV has remote control; there is no phone. All electric power points (except for worktop level points in kitchen) are at approximately 450mm and light switches at approximately 1400mm.

Reviews

Lovely location to explore the area. The cottage was prepared for us at short notice which was greatly appreciated. The cottage was warm and inviting. Everyone had a good time.

Mr K,

We enjoyed our few days walking the Dee Valley Way returning to a warm cosy cottage e each evening. Many thanks

Past Customer,

We had a relaxing time at Dee Mount enjoying all the views and even managed a few drinks in the sunshine on the terrace. Spent the evenings soaking up the riverside views from the Grouse Inn and enjoyed their friendly hospitality. Walked much of the beautiful Dee Valley (excellent walk book from the tourist info.,) including from the Ponderosa café on the Horseshoe Pass – stunning views and the heather in bloom! Follow path behind the car park for amazing views too. The Steam Railway is brilliant, gentle and relaxing, as is a horse drawn canal barge from Llangollen. Nice pints at the Sun Inn, Rhewl and Sun Trevor along canal. Reason for visit was the Golf Open at o Hoylake, and we are so glad that this led us to our wonderful stay at Carrog exploring somewhere new.

Past Customer,

Had a wonderful stay for a few nights to fish the beautiful river, Dee! Perfect cottage with everything you need. Highly recommend the Grouse Inn for lovely food and great views Of the Dee and mountains. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you

Past Customer,

Lovely cosy cottage. Clean, well equipped and suited the four of us just fine. The pub (The Grouse) across the road was fantastic. Great beer and excellent pub grub. Plenty of walks from the door, up mountains or along the river.
