There is a wall light clearly illuminating the stairs. There are no doorways upstairs. The first floor is an open plan living area with a wooden floor. Description

Ty Wennol is a delightful two-bedroomed cottage, a conversion of a former barn , nearby the owners home, set just above the A470, 1 mile from Cemmaes (with pub), 6 miles NE of Machynlleth and with lovely views over the Dyfi Valley. This is an ‘upside down’ house, so that the living room takes advantage of the lovely valley views.

WiFi is available for general browsing and emails, but due to the rural location of the property it can be unreliable; not suitable for downloading or uploading large files or streaming music and movies.

Ground Floor:

Entrance: into a hallway with slate floor, beautiful oak staircase and exposed stone wall.

Bedrooms: One with twin beds and one with king size bed, each with pine bedroom suite and beamed ceiling.

Bathroom: with shower over the bath, WC, basin, shaver light, extractor fan, heated towel rail.

First Floor:

Living Room: Open plan first floor with views over the Dyfi Valley to the hills beyond; two cosy sofas, wood burning stove in beamed fireplace, flat screen TV, DVD player, CD/hifi; dining table and four chairs; home grown oak floorboards.

Kitchen Area: with modern fitted units, fridge with 3* freezer compartment and washer/dryer cleverly recessed below the roofline, electric oven and hob, extractor hood, microwave.

Logs are provided for the stove and there is oil-fired central heating throughout.

Outside: Small enclosed garden with patio furniture for guests’ use; disposable barbecues provided.

Ty Wennol is on the owners’ sheep and stock farm, situated on Glyndwr's Way and with other local walks from the door and down to the river; fishing can be arranged locally. This is a most comfortable, attractive and convenient base in the Dyfi Valley for touring the south Snowdonia National Park and coastline. Enjoy the spectacle of aircraft on the Mach Loop and both Machynlleth and Dolgellau have lively markets. Plenty of activities and attractions within easy reach including the new Dyfi Bike Park, for keen mountain trail bike riders, is less than a 15 minute drive away.

Reviews

Loved this little cottage, perfectly sized for 2 adult and 2 children (+ the dog). Would have loved to have stayed here longer than just the weekend. Cottage had everything you could need and the owners were lovely and friendly but not intrusive. Location was good, a short drive to many local amenities. Would definitely recommend and return. Our only criticism (if you can call it that) is we’re used to softer mattresses. Thank you

Mr B,

Fantastic location. Cottage was perfect. Warm and comfortable throughout. Owners are very helpful without being intrusive and a pleasure to meet, they made it a really relaxing holiday. We cannot fault any aspect of our stay. Dogs loved it. Will revisit again.

Mr D,

Cottage very comfortable and in a great location for exploring mid wales. Owners were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Would happily stay here again!

Mr C,

Rural location. Great views from the lounge. Very comfortable and cosy. Well equipped. Owners very welcoming. We would return.

Mrs J,

The only property we have ever returned to for a second visit! The owners are exceptionally friendly and helpful and dogs really ARE welcome with no restrictions.

Ms P,

Lovely location, with some beautiful walks . Views are perfect. Owners go above and beyond to make you welcome and are very helpful. Been on the mac loop was a bonus!

Mr B,

Lovely location very friendly hosts, attention to detail, hence a very good holiday.

Mrs L,

Everything was as expected. Cottage and area was as described

Mrs Christine H,

We have 2 Labradors, the river is a short walking distance which was perfect for the dog's. We found the cottage central to what we wanted to do. The owners were extremely helpful, and the views from the living area are straight across fields. Very clean. We would definitely go back

Mrs D,

It was almost as we expected it to be. Only thing we weren’t expecting was the cottage to be linked to the owner’s property, a little privacy in the garden/ courtyard would have made it perfect.

Mr Ian O,

Lovely little cottage with friendly and welcoming owners. Lots to do in the surrounding areas, and spectacular views. The cottage itself is very tidy and has everything you need. The living area/kitchen is on the top floor which really is a bonus as it makes the most of the views across the valley. Our dogs love it as there is a little garden outside for them and it has a gate to stop them going onto the busy road. There is a field opposite the cottage where you can run your dogs along by the river which is ideal. The owners are dog lovers too so they love to fuss your dogs. Great place to spend a holiday!

mrs T,

Lovely cosy and comfortable accomodation with great views. Hosts very welcoming and on hand if needed. Location good for getting to beach & mountains.

Ms M,

This cottage is absolutely perfect for a relaxed stay in the Welsh countryside. I loved the views from the living room on the top floor and the sounds of the waterfall and stream outside was an unexpected bonus. I did have a phone signal here and was able to use the web - however, I really enjoyed just reading and enjoying the peace. The cottage is perfect for dogs and no fussy rules like some places - most of the flooring was hard to and, therefore, easy to keep clean. I enjoyed local walks and the town nearby had a number of car charging points including fast chargers which is perfect for EV owners like me. The couple who owned it were on hand if needed but also just let me enjoy the place. Loved the log fire too (and logs were included in the price). Me and my two dogs loved it.

Mr H,

This property was wonderful and the owner is lovely and friendly. We had a wonderful time. Its fairly easy to get to places too. We were greated with Welsh Cakes and milk for tea, the property was comfortable, clean and warm. Wonderful.

Miss G,

Very well laid out and equipped property. Thoughfully designed open plan living and cooking area. We wanted for nothing. A comfortable stay for the two of us and our two dogs. The log fire was an optional treat. The dogs loved the garden. Highly recommended.

mr C,

A lovely clean and cosy cottage perfectly situated for anyone visiting the ‘Mach loop’! Watching the jets fly past is a real bonus. Owners, Ben and Kate, live next door and made us feel very welcome.
