Description

Pandy Barn is a converted barn ideally situated within the idyllic Welsh countryside with far reaching views of the surrounding area. The barn is detached and situated adjacent to other barns and the owner's farmhouse. The characterful village of Berriew is located some 1.2 miles distant and offers an excellent range of amenities to include two pubs, butcher, cafe and village shop with post office.

The accommodation includes a modern fitted kitchen comprising electric double oven, ceramic hob, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer, ample food preparation and storage space, table and chairs. The kitchen leads through to the light and spacious living room which includes a three seater sofa, armchair and sofabed. There is also a dining area which takes full advantage of the fantastic views. Guests have access to a TV with FreeSat, DVD player and WiFi. The property provides two good sized bedrooms, the double bedroom with en suite shower room and the twin room with en suite bathroom. Although both bedrooms have en suite facilities there is also a separate cloakroom/WC. The property has the capacity to sleep six with the additional use of the sofabed situated within the living room. The property is almost entirely on one level, but with a single step from kitchen to living room and one from hallway towards bedrooms, and a step up into the shower cubicle, all with grab rails, making the property suitable for the less able. Coat and hat stand to store outdoor clothing in the hallway. Outside, there is a small lawned area with picnic bench away from the farmyard with unobscured views of the surrounding countryside. There is private parking (sloping) for 1 or 2 cars and entrance into the property's hallway just off the lane; additional parking is also available on the farmyard, with reasonably level access into the kitchen.

Pandy Barn is ideally suited to couples or small families looking for a relaxing break surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, whilst within easy reach of the excellent village facilities. Berriew is also home to the Andrew Logan Museum of Sculpture. Welshpool, 7 miles, includes Powis Castle (NT), the Welshpool - Llanfair Steam Railway, Powisland Museum, swimming pool and leisure centre, and the historic golf course a couple of miles further on. Excellent walking in the area, including stretches of Offa's Dyke, Kerry Ridgeway and the Severn Way, which runs alongside the river and the disused Montgomery Canal. Visit the historic market town of Montgomery, the former county town 6 miles away, for the interesting ruins of Montgomery Castle, attractive Georgian town square, Michelin starred Checkers restaurant. The area also has some local food and drink attractions, including the Monty's Brewery Visitor Centre in Montgomery, Kerryvale Vineyard and Dairy Dreams Ice Cream both between Montgomery and Churchstoke.

Please note that the owners breed working dogs with kennels in the adjacent barns

Reviews

This place was a lovely place. Plenty of wildlife and a lovely place to see many birds and animals.

Mr P,

Wonderful holls. Beautiful cottage so clean and spacious. Lacked cooking equipment but we managed. Would have liked a hair dryer but not to worry. All in all it was super and would stay there again. Owner very nice . Stunning views Highly recommend.
