Description

Y Beudy is one of a group of cottages converted from former farm buildings, adjacent to the owners' farmhouse surrounding by the gently rolling hills of Mid Wales, two miles from Caersws, six miles west of Newtown. This cottage is in the middle of the group, in a courtyard-style setting, and provides comfortable accommodation for two couples or a small family. The cottage retains some original beams and high ceilings, and is furnished and equipped to a high standard.

A Welcome Tray is provided, WiFi is available, mobile phone reception is good and there is gas central heating throughout.

Sitting Room: with leather sofas, electric flame-effect stove, FreeSat TV, DVD player and patio doors opening onto shared lawned grounds to the front of the property.

Kitchen Diner: light and bright, with another patio door, electric oven and hob, extractor hood, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher; dining table and four chairs.

Bedroom 1: with double bed and FreeSat TV.

Shower Room: adjacent, with shower cubicle, WC, basin, extractor fan, shaver light and heated towel rail.

From the sitting room, and open tread wooden staircase leads to the first floor:

Bedroom 2: with king size bed and FreeSat TV.

En Suite: with shower cubicle, basin with shaver light, WC, heated towel rail and extractor fan.

Parking: shared parking area just a few metres from the cottages.

Outside: the cottage has its own patio table and chairs, and shared lawned grounds with views over the surrounding countryside.

On Site Facilities: Guests have access to facilities on the owners' small static caravan park, including a games room at the end of the row of cottages, with table tennis and coin-operated pool table, and nearby laundry, payphone, children's play area and a collection of books and games to borrow.

There is coarse fishing on site (carp, tench and roach) in stocked pools. Caersws, two miles away, has a petrol station and convenience store, pub and mainline railway station, as well as a small Art Gallery. Newtown, six miles away, has a range of shops and supermarkets, leisure centre, golf course, small cinema, gallery and museum. Twenty miles east is Welshpool, with Powis Castle and Welshpool-Llanfair Caereinion Light Railway. This peaceful Mid Wales location provides easy access to Rhayader and the Elan Valley to the south, the historic town of Machynlleth and the south Snowdonia National Park to the north west.  The coast at Aberystwyth or Aberdyfi is about an hour's drive away.

Y Beudy is one of a group of three cottages, which can be booked together to accommodate groups of up to 10. Please see Gellidywyll Cottages for full details.

Electricity and central heating included

Bed linen provided; towels available @ £3 per person per week.

Reviews

The cottage was of very good quality, television very good size in lounge and both bedrooms. Very quite area but close to towns

Mr Alex W,

Only dissapointme was pubs and chip shop closed Monday and Tuesday. Needed to book restaurant in Unicorn . Had bbq and plenty of kitchen equipment

Mrs Jackie B,

Clearly communicated offer on the web page, communicated well in the run up to the stay. All very professional, and of course the place we stayed was excellent.

Miss Caroline J,

Y Beudy was everything we hoped for and more. The downstairs bedroom and shower room was ideal as my husband struggles with stairs. We were very comfortable and the situation and views were very relaxing. The welcome pack was a lovely touch, we’d definitely like to return.

Mrs Pat B,
