Glaisdale
Glaisdale is a pretty village located between the villages of Lealholm and Egton Bridge and only eight miles from Whitby. It lies on the national hiking trail the Esk Valley walk. In the 19th Century Glaisdale was an ironstone-mining village recognised by its terraces of slate roof houses. Set at the foot of the dale, in beautiful surroundings,  it has great local amenities with a host of shops, pubs and cafes.

Reviews

The description on how to get to the cottage, although accurate, was not very helpful. The tennis court is there but not exactly visible coming from the Whitby direction. Once we got there the cottage was as described except we were told there was no linen and there was. While moving around the bed I got a cobweb caught around my head. Finally there was only one bath towel provided, not enough for 3 people. Other than that it was a very nice stay in a lovely quiet location.

Mr Gordon S,

There weren’t enough cutlery or tea towels. The cottage was lovely but finding it was extremely difficult. The directions weren’t clear and we lost internet so couldn’t use our google maps. The family that came after us also had the same issue. Clearer directions would be incredibly helpful!! The location was incredible though and the cottage was comfy and cosy.

Mrs Sally H,

The cottage wasn’t very clean towels thread bare and bedding didn’t seem fresh.

Ms Cheryl K,

The cooker was poor, the beds weren't very comfortable and no WiFi. Otherwise it's a beautiful location and cottage.
