Description

 A truly delightful, modern ground floor apartment. Secure entry and undercroft parking make it a haven of peace and comfort only a five minutes easy walk from the historic Whitby town centre, cobbled streets, harbour and all its amenities, bus and train stations. An excellent base from which to explore Whitby and the surrounding area.

Garden: French windows lead from bedroom 1 to a private patio with table and chairs.
Parking: Private parking for one car in undercroft height limit of 2.1m.

Short breaks: Not accepted at peak times.

Notes: Towels and hairdryers are provided. Because of the proximity of Sanderling apartment ref W740, a party of up to eight  people could use them for a gathering of family and friends.

Whitby
Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. For a different day out, why not climb the famous 199 steps to reach the ruins of Whitby Abbey. It's said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stokers Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town.

Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch. There's always something happening throughout the town , and festivals and fairs are held throughout the year including Whitby Goth Festival, Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta.

We really enjoyed staying in this property - it has everything that you need and is really comfortable. It is in a quiet location but still within walking distance of everything you need.The only downside is that the wifi was not very strong but I understand that is an issue throughout the town.

Lovely property, the location is ideal only being 5 minutes walk away from Whitby Harbour and the private parking is a huge bonus. The property itself was clean and well-equipped and the property owner was lovely and a pleasure to deal with. We have stayed in this property a few times and will definitely be back.

The facilities and contents of the let were first class and it would be difficult to suggest how these could be improved upon. The private car park is a definite plus due to the parking in Whitby being problematic during busier times. Less than 5 minutes walk from shops, bars, restaurants etc. made Driftwood a perfect location and free from traffic noise. I would highly recommend to prospective holiday makers for either a short or long term break.
