Description

Apartment six jutland house is a stylish and contemporary apartment which sleeps 2 with stunning views of the Harbour, the Endeavour and Whitby Abbey.  Sit and people watch from the four windows in the large and spacious open-plan living area. There is a well-equipped Kitchen area and a prettily decorated and furnished bedroom with a super king-sized bed.  The property is on floor 2 of Jutland House with an accessible lift.   The property is furnished and presented to a high standard.

Jutland View is located close to Whitby centre and the swing bridge which leads to the historic “old town”.  In the summer you will find a beach complete with donkey rides and some of the best fossil hunting in the country.  Captain James Cook was an apprentice here before he sailed off and discovered Australia so a visit to the resident replica ship, “Endeavour” is a must or why not be brave and climb the famous 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey, a Cistercian monastery which is said to be the inspiration for Bram Stokers, “Dracula”.   Whitby is also where the Goth community hold their festival every year. With, history, art, nature, superb restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs there really is something for everyone in Whitby.

Entrance:  The property is on floor 2.  The front door leads directly into a long hallway with wooden floor.  The hall has a decorative table and leads onto:

Open-plan, living room/Kitchen:  This super open-plan living room/kitchen has the most wonderful views of the Harbour and the Endeavour and looks right over the estuary to a magnificent view of the Abbey.  This apartment fronts onto the harbour and is perfect to enjoy the hustle and bustle of all Whitby has to offer both day and night.  This room is light, large and spacious.  There are two comfy leather sofas and a leather footstool to rest your weary legs after a day on the beach.  A large smart tv sits on an oak sideboard and a lovely matching curved side table and lamp complete the living area.  The kitchen is contemporary wood with a granite look worksurface in matching tones.  There is a microwave, fridge freezer, electric oven with gas hob and a washer dryer.  There is a breakfast bar with matching stools for you to enjoy a meal or maybe even some famous Whitby Fish and Chips. There is a video entry system which is in the kitchen.

Bedroom 1: A stylish and glamorous room with a super king size bed to give extra flexibility to your sleeping arrangements.  The bed is dressed with pale gold cushions and a pale gold brushed velvet headboard.  The furniture is matching cream and pine which includes a dressing table with stool and mirror, wardrobe and chest of drawers.  There is a very useful full-length mirror and occasional chair.  A lovely room to relax in and watch your favourite film on the TV. Wooden floor.

Bathroom: A good sized room with a wooden floor, white bath with shower over and glass shower panel, the bath is surrounded by attractive mosaic tiles.   A toilet and a sink unit with mixer tap and under sink storage complete the sanitary ware.  There is a tall heated towel rail and a gas central heating boiler in an enclosed cupboard. 

Entry: There is an automatic entry fob which opens front door, once inside you will find a lift to all floors and stairs, the property is on the second floor.  There are 40 steps up to the second floor.  Once on the second floor a door leads you outside where there is a balcony walkway to property.

This was a very comfortable flat in a great location overlooking the harbour. It was good to be right in the centre of town, close to pubs, restaurants and all the amenities that Whitby has to offer. Offloading all your stuff is a bit of a pain but parking seems to be an issue for all the accommodation in Whitby. If you don't mind several trips to get your luggage and bits upstairs and downstairs when you arrive and leave, this is a great spot to be. We parked up the car for the duration of our five day stay and walked everywhere. Then took the coastal buses to visit Robin Hood's bay and Staithes. They are cheap and a great way to sightsee together and the bus station is just a couple of minutes from the flat. The views from the flat are great overlooking the harbour, especially at night.
