Description

Idylic four bedroomed property located in the heart of the historic seaside town. Decorated to a high standard, this four star property will provide that extra special stay for up to eight people. Special features include a private terrace to the ground floor and balcony on the first floor. Ideally located within walking distance to the town's points of interest and bars and eateries. Ideal for groups or families and can be booked with adjoining property W088 Cormorant for larger parties. Pets welcome.

GROUND FLOOR:
Entrance: Spacious hallway with shoe rack and coat hanging area.
Family Bathroom: Bath, shower over bath, toilet and washbasin.
A few steps up leading to;
Bedroom 1: King size bed, chest of drawers, patio doors leading to enclosed patio.
En-suite: Shower cubicle, toilet and washbasin.
Bedroom 2: Double bed, wardrobe with drawers, chair.
Bedroom 3: Full size bunks, wardrobe, chair.

FIRST FLOOR:
Lounge/ Kitchen/ Diner:  Leather comfortable seating, coffee table, Smart TV. Dining table and chairs (8). Patio doors leading to a balcony terrace with wooden decking, patio table and chairs.
Gas cooker, electric oven & grill, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

SECOND FLOOR
Bedroom 4: King size bed, TV, chest of drawers, hanging rail, chair.
En-suite: Shower cubicle, toilet and washbasin.

Pets: One dog welcome.
Parking: Parking outside the property for a small/medium size car. Parking permit for West Cliff car park is provided. Scratch card available on request.
Heating: Gas central heating.
Garden: Private balcony, patio area with table and chairs.
Short breaks: Not accepted at peak times.
Notes: Towels provided. Travel cot and high chair available upon request. Unlimited WiFi is available free of charge. No smoking at this property. Mobile phone signal is variable / good.

The cottage was perfect for our adult family group of six - really comfortable, great layout and decor, and having one bathroom per couple was ideal. Location was great too. Only problem was that we couldn't park our small car in the drive, because of a huge car next door as well as cars parked opposite the driveway. We did find alternative parking elsewhere, so it wasn't a big problem, just an unexpected start to the holiday. Everything else was great - comfortable, quiet, well-equipped, and easy to walk into town - we'd definitely come back!

I have been to a few of your cottages; all very nice and as described on the website, though a few of the places you could tell hadnt been used/cleaned in a while (dust, cobwebs). When I have needed to speak to office staff (mainly regarding parking permits), they have always been friendly, polite, professional, and happy to help. Pretty much everything you need is at the cottages, though a few basic items you may need to bring with or buy while there (ie: bin bags, extra loo roll, kitchen roll). Overall, very happy with where I have stayed with Original Cottages, and I look forward to the time

Fabulous House everything we needed plus plenty of space to spread out! Great central location perfect for town , West Cliff and heading out to other areas . Highly recommend Sherlocks cafe for cream teas and cakes. quirky cosy good portions providing you dont minds being in the dark (minimal windows) I'm sure we will be back again.

Whitby
Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. The river Esk flows through the town to the sea and cottages are perched on the hills on each side, with cobbled streets and historic yards providing a maze of places to explore. The town has a fantastic mix of modern shops and services, traditional stores and boutique shops. Whitby jet continues to be made into beautiful jewellery and sold in a number of shops.  There are plenty of excellent restaurants which serve local fish and seafood, as well as a wonderful choice of cafes and tearooms.

The ruins of Whitby Abbey stand dominantly on the clifftop and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps from the old town. The Abbey is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town, harbour and coastline. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. A statue of this great explorer stands proudly above the town, along with some huge whalebones, a sign of the town's maritime history. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch of the day.

There's always something happening throughout the town, with festivals and fairs are held throughout the year. These include Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta, and there are two popular Goth festivals each year.
