Description

Please note that this property is NOT suitable for parties due to close proximity to neighbours - Friday only arrivals.

Dating back to 1828, The Old Warehouse in Woodbridge is tucked away just off the main Thoroughfare, in one of the prettiest and quietest streets in this popular market town. This unique property cleverly converted into a stunning self-catering holiday home which is truly one of a kind.

The property has had various uses in the past including its original purpose as a Wesleyan Meeting House, a corset factory in 1888 and a furniture bonding warehouse.

In 1978, The Old Warehouse was converted into a home and has undergone a complete transformation. The interior of this holiday home has been finished to a very high standard with a contemporary industrial style, similar to that of a New York style loft apartment, very unusual in the market town of Woodbridge but perfectly fitting for this unusual building.

As expected with a luxury holiday home there is comfort around every corner with sumptuous seating and soft furnishings throughout, a cosy gas fired woodburner for the winter months and high-quality beds ideal for a good night’s sleep. Spread across two main levels, the ground floor consists of the three bedrooms ideally suited for three couples but also works perfectly for multi-generational family groups. The additional separate snug area is located on the ground floor with its own TV, perfect as a breakaway space if you need some quiet.

On the first floor is the main living area which is all open plan with beautiful exposed brick, hints of copper, metal work and a huge skylight creating the centre stage for family gatherings or simply relaxing and enjoying this amazing conversion. Up here you will find the modern kitchen, spacious dining area, and relaxing sitting area - all oozing comfort. Finishing off the space is a higher mezzanine level with comfy armchairs and desk space.

The Old Warehouse is a great choice for weekly stays or short breaks and is ideal at any time of year. This holiday home has to be seen to be believed. Shop: 100 yards Pub: 200 yards.

Woodbridge is a historic town of great character situated on the River Deben. Its charm lies in the many narrow picturesque streets of fine houses and cottages, the river, a popular marina, the busy boatyards, the famous Tide Mill, the ancient buildings around the Market Hill and the fine Church. Woodbridge has an interesting shopping centre, with many specialist shops, good restaurants and pubs, together with art galleries, antique shops, town museum, Suffolk Horse museum, an excellent cinema/theatre, large recreation areas and an indoor heated swimming pool.

Reviews

This property is fabulous. Having 3 beds & baths it's perfect for 3 couples. It has a large living area with large, very comfortable sofas and a large dining table. There are also other a couple of other seating areas if you want to 'escape'. It is immaculately kept and the kitchen is fully stocked for cooking at home. The location is great with lots of nice pubs, restaurants & cafes within 5 walking minutes. (The one thing I'd point out is most of Woodbridge eateries seemed to be closed either Sunday & Monday or Monday & Tuesday.). If you want days out from Woodbridge, the area is full of interesting places. For both local & further afield, the owner has left files & files of recommendations. Equally so on the house itself - there are manuals & help for all the appliances etc. Mary the owner, has really gone above & beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay at The Old Warehouse

Past Customer,

An unusual but beautifully presented property just off Woodbridge high Street & a five-minute walk from the station. The owner is very helpful & nothing is too much trouble.

Past Customer,

20th-27th October Great house with lovely attention to detail. perfect for a relaxing week away. Excellent loacation. Thank you Mary for your helpful notes/advice/maps etc. The table tennis was a bonus! Sharon & Geoff Sal & Gaz Ali & Chris

Mrs Sharon G,

29th of September two second October 2023 The Old Warehouse was the perfect stay for us to celebrate our dad’s 70th birthday. A great venue for us all to be together in a prime location. Sunday roast at the Anchor was lovely and we enjoyed all that Woodbridge had to offer. No issues at all and even got to briefly meet the polite smoke alarm in the kitchen! Haha Hosts were superb and we would come back again. Dad loved it! Many thanks! David, Rebecca, Ben, Debbie and Michael

Miss Rebecca H,

This was a fabulous holiday home. So comfortable and well appointed. The owner went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed with some nice personal touches as well.

Mrs B,

We’ve had a great time, the house is comfortable & well equipped. Recommend H+J ice-creams from the Woodyard on the quay, also the Tide Mill & Long Boat project. Good walk up the river to Sutton Hoo & Orford Ness. The Bull up the hill has a good range of food for both omnivores & vegetarians & the local fish is great!

Previous C,

Another wonderful stay at the beautifully appointed Old Warehouse! Has everything you need and was spotless on arrival. We had good food at the Coach & Horses & Cumberland Fish Bar. Amazing pizza at the Woodyard. INCREDIBLE meal at the Anchor! Would recommend Stonham Barns for family friendly activities- Adventure golf, foot golf and foot pool. Small issue with the Wi-Fi a couple of days into our holiday-Shock horror for the children! Simply turning it off and on again resolved the issue. Thank you for getting in touch before & during our stay. We had an amazing stay.

Previous C,

Fabulous property and excellent service. Thank you.

Previous C,

We had a lovely week staying at the Old Warehouse. It is such a fun house to stay in. The kids loved the separate lounge and playing table tennis on the dining table. It is a fantastic location, just a minutes walk from the town centre. We enjoyed walking into the greengrocers for fresh fruit in the morning, as well as the market & bakers. We’d recommend pizza from The Woodyard, fish and chips in Aldeburgh and eating at the Anchor just around the corner. We were delighted by our visit to Sutton Hoo and Felixstowe, as well as returning to Southwold and Aldeburgh. We’d advise parking at the train station if you are staying in Woodbridge all day- £4/day. Thank you for your thoughtful messages just prior to our stay- it was very kind & helpful.

Hill Family,

We have had a brilliant stay at what is the nicest, best equipped and most beautiful property we have stayed in to date. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and kindness.Parked in the car park for free overnight, paid via phone from 8am-12 midday before going out for the day.We had a lovely time in Southwold, Walberswick, Sutton Hoo, Ipswich Quay etc.Food was fab in Maybush Inn (outstanding actually!) but Cumberland Fish Bar was sadly awful-soggy & oily. Hope to stay again, and family games of cards +Scrabble were brilliant on very rainy days.

Keer Family,

Fabulous architecturally interesting property. Clean & spacious. Excellent service from owner.

Ms P,

Fabulous warehouse property near the centre of Woodbridge, so very convenient. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable and spacious. The children loved playing table tennis on the kitchen table and having their own lounge with games, TV (to watch the ladies football) and desk for drawing their art. Our only regret was not spending more time in the house because the weather was so good!

Mr H,

What a fabulous place to stay! We came with the idea to explore the area and see if we'd eventually like to move to this area of Suffolk. The Old Warehouse has spoilt us being so central and we’re now looking for a similar space around here. So thank you! On a practical note- we had a great time staying here whether it was a games night, watching TV in such comfort or just sitting and catching up with one another's lives. Fabulously comfy beds, great showers, and a well-stocked kitchen. Thank you!

Previous Customer,

Fabulous week- others have said it already but it is a wonderful house in a great location. Poor Susan had to return to Aberdeen after only 2 days, leaving me to play 'Billy No Mates'!! Highlights... 1) Sutton Hoo- can recommend the guided tour of the Royal Burial Mounds but it's 1.5 hours so wrap up warm 2) UFO trail in Rendlesham Forest- whether you believe it or not it is still a great story! 3) 15 of us in the cellar for a family reunion. 4) The Unruly Pig is a bit pretty, but at £30 for the 4- course set lunch, it was first-class food at great value. 5) Ipswich 6 Charlton 0 !!! Thanks so much Mary....

Paul and S,

Beautiful house, very clean, everything you would need for a comfortable stay away from home. The biggest thank-you to Mary for allowing me to do a 1st Birthday party for my granddaughter,( who I very rarely see due to distance) this meant the world to us.

Dave W,

We have had a great time at the Old Warehouse. Mary has been so kind to send all the details before our arrival and Woodbridge is where I grew up so it's been wonderful to “come home” for 10 days! Great places to eat, especially the Table and the Unruly Pig. We loved the house and its central location. Thank you for wonderful stay.

The N,

We have had a wonderful weekend in this very beautifully converted building. A really lovely space to socialise and stay. As we live in a rural situation, it was great to park the car and have every amenity within walking distance. Brunch at the Crown was a winner and we had a special treat of Sunday lunch at The Unruly Pig - fabulous. The extra special touches provided by Mary were much appreciated. This was a very special reunion weekend for our family and we have made some super memories here at The Warehouse. Thank you

Past Customer,

What a fabulous find for a short break in Woodbridge! This was a special occasion for friends' 60th birthdays. Great location and beautifully presented. So quirky and well thought out. Spacious and great space for socialising. Peaceful considering its central location. Woodbridge itself has lots to offer. The Bull Inn and The Table were excellent places to eat. Thank you Mary for being so hospitable and informative with text messaging and info. Definitely recommend to anyone! Thank you so much!

Previous Customer,

Mrs G,

This has been a really nice place to stay: its comfortable, well thought out and in such a great location. We have eaten/shopped in Woodbridge and all agreed it is a perfect holiday destination. Our host has kept in contact and provided huge amounts of information via text and booklets in the property. Would highly recommend this as somewhere to stay.
