Description

Wagon Lodge has been beautifully converted to retain its original charm including its character beams and vaulted ceiling.  It is located on a working farm and is secluded with its own pretty garden and lovely countryside views.  The spacious open plan living area has been tastefully furnished and has a cosy wood burning stove and boasts a medieval bed, which has been restored to the highest standard.  There are French doors opening onto an enclosed garden which is peaceful and perfect for summer dining. Join the High Weald circular walk from outside your door and wander through the countryside into Tenterden and enjoy its many cafes, bars and restaurants or you can continue on to the vineyard at Chapel Down in Small Hythe, where you can enjoy a guided tour and taste their award winning wines and beers. Take a ride on the wonderful Kent and East Sussex Railway towards Bodiam and its ancient castle.  This area is know locally as the Jewel in the Weald and has many beautiful parks and gardens to explore.  Other highlights are Bewl Water and Bedgebury Forest which are great for walkers and cyclists.  There are golf courses and beaches within an easy drive, making this your perfect holiday get-away.   Shop:  1.5 miles   Pub: 1.5 miles    Coast: 15 miles

Reviews

Great location and although we couldn’t enjoy the stunning walks from the property because of the rain we have had recently we appreciated how lovely the area is. Very comfortable accommodation and great host as well.

Mrs D,

We loved the cottage it was warm and welcoming. The medieval bed was really comfortable and we both slept really well. We enjoyed hearing the cows, and feeding the birds. We hope to return in warmer drier weather.

Mrs R,

A fabulous place to get away from it all for a couple of days. Very warm, comfortable and peaceful. We had a wonderful time exploring local area with our dog. Hosts very responsive to messages and always available.

Mr T,

Such a lovely place to stay. Great location. Garden fully enclosed which was so useful for our Cavapoo’s first holiday! We had a lovely walk from the property to a nearby reservoir and there are other walks you can do. Such a lovely farm site and we appreciated the fresh eggs and even bought more from the owners who were very responsive to messages prior and during our trip. Would highly recommend.

Mr H,

The cottage was a delight and the owners so friendly. We loved our break.

Mr C,

Delightful and cosy cottage in an excellent location for exploring Kent and Sussex. The cottage was very clean and welcoming. Thank you for the mince pies and other goodies.

Mrs C,

Lovely place to stay.

Mr Van E,

Very good very comfortable dog friendly cottage in an excellent location. Would definitely consider booking again

Mrs R,

What a joy to be able to roam for miles from your back door, then come home to a warm welcoming cottage. The owners sought to ensure our stay was successful. The garden at Wagon Lodge was just right to keep our pet safe, as well as being the perfect place to soak in the sun. The cottage was well equipped and nicely presented, the setting superb, tranquil while stunningly beautiful. We hope to visit again soon.

Mrs J,

We loved our week here, horses and cows, lovely garden, super comfortable bed, warm and cosy with the wood burner. So close to beaches, Tenterden and NT gardens, walks and shops.

Ms J,

Wagon Lodge was just perfect for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The enclosed garden was excellent for our dog to enjoy and the lodge had everything we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable. I would definitely book again.

Mrs P,

We've just re booked wagon Lodge for the fifth consecutive year. We can't recommend the property and owners Bruce and Helen highly enough.

Mr B,

A picture perfect lodge, well equipped and comfortable. Our dog loved the secure grassed garden. Great location for Tenterden and the surrounding villages.

Mr N,

Very impressed with the cottage the only thing I would say is that you need a separate freezer as had trouble keeping food frozen as only a small compartment and the fridge is not very big in its entirety.

mrs Nicola R,

Perfect
