Description

Set down a quiet private country lane on the outskirts of the village and in Rolvenden Layne - this quirky, characterful cottage is utterly charming, welcoming and beautifully presented.  Lovely undisturbed countryside surroundings in this idyllic Kent village. The cottage can sleep up to 5 comfortably but as you have to go through the single room to get to the attic double, it is recommended for family use.  The inglenook fireplace is home to a huge wood burning stove - so winter breaks will be as cosy as summer holidays!  From this great cottage you have easy access to many places of interest including the popular country towns of Cranbrook and Tenterden, Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, Bodiam Castle, award winning Biddenden and Chapel Down vineyards, Smallhythe Place and what better way of seeing the countryside than a trip on the Kent & Sussex Steam Railway.  Great walks and rambles in the area that usually end up at the Ewe & Lamb pub!  Dog friendly...

Reviews

Great homely feel had everything you needed for a great time , loved the decor and all the ornaments and pictures , we had a great Christmas very relaxing, would recommend and have to family and friends,

Mr E,

A good location for dog walking and some interesting locations to visit nearby. The cottage had an eclectic collection of art and objects, which kept one interested! Overall a nice place to escape to, with pleasant neighbours

Mr W,

The week we stayed here was wonderful! The cottage is well equipped, lovely to stay, live and sleep in. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the cottage so much. Marigold Cottage is surrounded by so many special places, like Sissinghurst, Scotney Castle, Cranbrook, Tenterden and the amazing Steam Railway there, and of course, Canterbury. The pub Olive and Lamb has fantastic food and good ales - very worth a visit. Thank you so much for this wonderful week in your lovely cottage!

Previous Customer,

A very cosy property, everything you could need is present. Tastefully decorated, nice little garden and comfortable beds. Very friendly and helpful neighbour. Rural, quiet surroundings with easy access to many interesting places Kent has to offer. We would highly recommend this little gem!

Mr W,

Lovely quiet spot with easy travel to all the places we wanted to see. Cottage is charming and a real delight. Would definitely go back.

Miss P,

The cottage is lovely, and the garden is a real sun trap. Everything in the cottage was well thought through and we loved the art work and ornaments. Even loved the record collection! Leeds Castle was well worth a visit and the gardens were amazing. Dungeness is a must see. Bexhill and Hastings was well worth a visit and the countryside is beautiful. A visit to the Folkestone Harbour Arm , the various food shacks, and "The Beach" is a good day out. We finished the week off with a visit to Tenterden Food Festival. Week went too fast, and we`d love to stay for another week. Thanks for a lovely stay!
