1 The Knoll is a cosy three bedroom cottage located in the heart of the village of Shottisham. This pet friendly property is ideal for families, friends or couples looking for an escape to the countryside where the village pub is literally on your door step. Relax in front of the fire with a good book or explore the immediate surrounds on a pooch walk! The well equipped kitchen is perfect for all your self catering needs… enjoy breakfast on the patio or an alfresco dinner.  Also, you are just four miles from Sutton Hoo, soaked in history. Shingle Street and Orford, a coastal village with a fascinating 12th century castle keep, once a major pillar in the defence of the English coast. Visit nearby Aldeburgh, a quintessential seaside town on the Suffolk coast with stylish shops, cafes, delis and prom. Be sure to pick up some fish and chips and picnic on the beach! The area has something for everyone  Shop: 2 miles Pub: 0.1 miles.

Shottisham is a pretty village situated between Bawdsey at the mouth of the River Deben and the busy market town of Woodbridge, it is also not far from the coast at Shingle Street. There are many public footpaths to explore in this area of Suffolk and after getting out and about why not enjoy a well earned drink in the fantastic village pub called the Sorrel Horse which hosts many events throughout the year.

Had a great holiday, helped by 2 weeks of un-British-like sunny weather! The property could probably do with a bit of a spruce up, in terms of décor and appliances, but this was reflected in the price and didn't affect the holiday at all. There was some very noisy plumbing at times, when the toilet was flushed or when the shower was used and the television reception was lost in the 2nd week, but this didn't detract from the holiday at all. The mattress on one bed wasn't great (in the twin bedroom with the sky-light). The memory foam made it feel like the bed was sloping to one side.
