Description
Tamar is a spacious ground floor apartment just a few steps from Woolacombe's three miles of award winning golden sands. The contemporary lounge has comfortable leather seats set around an attractive fireplace with electric woodburner style fire. Patio doors open on to the decking and a garden overlooking the village and beach, a perfect setting for al fresco dining. A second lounge/diner adds to the roomy feeling of the apartment. Granite worktops work well with the contemporary maple kitchen units. Two stylish bedrooms share a family bathroom and a spacious hall allows for extra storage space.
Woolacombe's beach has been voted number one in the UK by TripAdvisor guests for the last two years. It also holds the England For Excellence Gold Award for best family resort and was voted the Best British Beach in the Mail On Sunday. Lifeguards ensure safe swimming during the summer. However it’s not just the beach that brings visitors to Woolacombe. There's a wide selection of restaurants, teashops and bars to enjoy while the laid-back atmosphere makes it a firm favourite for people of all ages. A short drive away is Exmoor National Park, which has Europe’s very first International Dark Sky Reserve, the tallest tree in England, the highest cliffs in England, almost 250 species of bird and over 1,000 different flowering plants and grasses, the highest number of wild red deer in England and wild native ponies, perfectly adapted to the upland conditions of Exmoor. Pop into Ilfracombe on the way back. It has a delightful mix of Victorian and Regency architecture, pretty harbour, independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. The harbour, with Damien Hirst’s infamous bronze statue Verity, and the Tunnels Beaches, are well worth a visit along with the award-winning Ilfracombe Aquarium, fascinating Ilfracombe Museum, Larkstone Leisure Park, Hele Cornmill and Chambercombe Manor - one of Britain's most haunted houses.
