Description

Escape to this fabulous family, and pet friendly cottage in a popular village on the Devonshire coast. Whether you like to spend easy days on the beach, or try out water sports, everything will be within easy reach. Shaldon has a wide range of places to eat and shops, and there is a pub situated right next door to the cottage, perfect for when you would rather someone else do the cooking. Take the passenger ferry over the River Teign to Teignmouth, where you can try out paddle boarding or canoeing, or visit the biggest outdoor waterpark in the UK, 10 miles away near Paignton. While you are here, explore the many beaches of the ‘English Rivera’ stretching from Torquay to Brixham.

Enter this lovely characterful home straight into the open-plan living area, with Cream Tea welcome package provided upon arrival. Spend evenings in front of the fire sitting back on the comfortable sofas and reflecting on the day’s events. Beyond the lounge is a pretty country-style kitchen which has everything you need to cook up a delicious breakfast, prepare a picnic, or create a culinary delight for dinner. Sit around the four-seater dining table and enjoy eating together. Adjacent to the kitchen is a handy and spacious utility room, a washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, and dishwasher. Completing the ground floor is a stylish shower room. Upstairs you will find two bright and welcoming bedrooms. The king-size bedroom has a Smart TV and built-in wardrobe, ideal for a couple. The second bedroom features a captain's bed which can be made up as a double or two singles (please request bedding arrangements when booking). A separate WC with basin is also situated on the first floor.

Outside the front of the property is a lovely private patio with dining furniture. Perfect for dining alfresco or soaking up the sun as you drink your morning coffee.

The idyllic setting of St. Christopher’s Cottage is equally matched by its welcome flexibility; with 'Star Cottage' just next door. Subject to availability; both pet-friendly cottages can be rented alongside one another; making them perfect for larger groups of 8.

Reviews

Equipped to a high standard. Double bed very comfortable. Very pleased with our choice.

Mr M,

Another Lovely Holiday, lots of time on the beach and we didn't use the car which was very restful. Typically, the weather was perfect on the day we left! Thank you both. See you soon

Previous Customer,

Lovely Cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Thank you for the cream tea, milk and doggy treats! Fabulous towels M & S's best! Loved the washing lines in the kitchen too! Sadly we didn't get out onto the patio as the weather took a turn for the worse, but we loved the walks and the views of the estuary behind the cottage. Shipwright Arms is good, as is the Clipper Café but we loved the London Inn. Fabulous food but you need to book a table in advance. We're hoping to return in the winter as I'm sure its fab around here then too. Thanks again.

Previous Customer,

Great place to stay. Comfortable, well equipped cottage. Love to cook when away and everything has allowed us, especiallly with local shops providing everything. Felt lucky to have found such a perfect place, only downside parking very unpredictable! Patio at front absolute bonus all day with very hot weather this week. Love to return

What a fantastic place to stay! The cottage had everything we needed and more, thanks for the scones, jam & cream, they went down a treat, so kind of you. The weather was fantastic too, definitely recommend The Ness, Coombe Cellars and The London Inn. Worth a walk from Watcombe Beach to Maidencombe and a pint at The Thatched Tavern. We will be back again!

Past Customer,

Thank you for sharing St. Christopher's cottage with us. It was such a well needed break from a very traumatic few months, a time of healing in a cozy cottage where we found everything one could ever need. The cream tea on arrival was such a lovely gesture and such a kind and generous thing for you to do. The huge double bed was the best ever. Thank you so much for sharing your cottage! Would love to come again.
