Description

This very attractive, two-storey property, situated in the centre of the pretty village of Yoxford, is the ideal location for a peaceful and relaxing holiday and is just a short drive from lots of local attractions. Yoxford itself has an interesting mix of historic architecture dating back to the 14th century and is known locally as the 'Garden of Suffolk' due to its location between two areas of parkland. Nearby attractions include Southwold (11 miles) with its independent shops, pier and beach, the town of Aldeburgh with its Scallop sculpture (13 miles) and, for birdwatchers, RSPB Minsmere is 6 miles away and the perfect coastal nature reserve for families with its wild zone and coastal lagoons.

The property itself is a homely, detached house with a beautiful blend of traditional features and contemporary decor and furnishings. There are also plenty of reception rooms so that guests have a range of options to choose from. Entering the property, you’ll find the cosy sitting room has comfortable sofas from which you can watch the TV and there’s also a glass door through to the conservatory/playroom so you can keep an eye on the kids’ shenanigans. This lovely conservatory has ample seating, a farmhouse table and chairs, a glass roof and French doors leading out to the garden making this a bright and welcoming space. There’s also a separate and slightly more formal dining room as well as a lovely and well-equipped kitchen, with another table and chairs as well as everything you need to prepare your favourite dishes. A snug room with easy chairs and another TV means that any older children in the group can have their own space away from the adults. There’s also a downstairs WC and shower as well as a utility room housing some of the appliances. Finally, a back porch with a door to the garden is the ideal place for storing coats and shoes. Upstairs you’ll find the four inviting bedrooms. There’s a double bedroom with a stylish en-suite shower room and a cute and cosy single bedroom whilst the other two double bedrooms are both another step up. All rooms are tastefully decorated with plenty of storage.

The outdoor space at this property is simply lovely. The garden, with paved seating areas, lawned areas and a large summer house, make the perfect extension to the indoor space and are ideal for warmer summer evenings. And, if the weather isn’t playing ball then the summer house is the ideal place to be outdoors, indoors!

The main high street of Yoxford has an interesting and pleasing mix of architecture dating from the 14th century right up to the 20th century.  Taking its name from the ford over the river, Yoxford is known locally as 'the garden of Suffolk' because of its setting between two stretches of parkland.  Its good location slightly off the A12, make it a good holiday destination for visiting Southwold, Aldeburgh, Dunwich, and Minsmere. In August, Yoxford holds an Art Festival with actors, poets, musicians and exhibitions.
