Laxfield is a charming village and well situated as a base to explore some of the loveliest and popular parts of Suffolk. It features what has been voted one of the best pubs in the county - The Kings Head (known as the Low House), a medieval Guildhall containing a museum and a shop that sells food, newspapers, alcohol etc. Laxfield has a playing field with a children's playground, a newly refurbished village hall which holds numerous events, All Saint's Church and two pubs. The Low House is one of the few pubs in the country without a bar - instead it has a traditional tap room. It is also known for its horse carriage rides, family friendly garden where events such as an annual beer festival, plays, Morris dancing and concerts are also held. The village is well located and is a short drive from Southwold, Walberswick and Framlingham with its castle and market. The nearby village of Stradbroke has tennis courts, a gym, swimming pool along with a butchers and bakery.

Reviews

Lovely stay. Very cozy cottage, fantastic friendly village with lots going on and 2 very friendly pubs within yards of the cottage. Very comfortable beds and all you need for a relaxing stay.

Mr S,

Sunnyside was a fantastic find and really close to the supermarket and the two fantastic pubs.it also had a lovely garden and stream that my puppy could play in without any worries.we all had a wonderful holiday and would certainly recommend this cottage

Mr P,

The cottage is nice and secluded but easy to access shop and pubs, a delightful quirky cottage with interesting objects and books, lovely garden, stream and outlook. It’s cosy with more than ample wood for the wood burner and heating through the cottage, a very welcoming atmosphere. We loved being there and had a very happy week.

Mr Bobbie S,

Excellent week away.
