Description

A charming holiday cottage in the very heart of the Suffolk countryside. A fusion of period features and contemporary living, close to the coast.

Marlborough House Forge has been completely renovated by the owners to provide a luxurious couples bolt-hole just a short drive from the bustling market towns of Framlingham and Woodbridge and the picturesque Suffolk coastline. As the name suggests, the cottage was formerly the village forge and many of its original features have been incorporated into the design including the original bellows. The ground floor accommodation offers everything you could wish for in your self catering holiday home with cosy and stylish interiors. From the private parking area, a path through the enclosed garden leads to the front door. Step inside and the interiors are bright and welcoming with an open plan living area complete with pretty window seat, well equipped kitchen and beautiful master bedroom and contemporary shower room. The property overlooks fields, a beautiful spot whatever the season - with misty horizons in the winter, rotating summer crops and the most amazing sunrises and sunsets.

Framlingham is a fascinating market town with an impressive 12th-century curtain-walled castle, which still dominates the town. Be sure to stop off for lunch or dinner, there are some excellent cafes, pubs and restaurants in the town. Alternatively, head to Southwold for a day on the beach, stroll along the prom and enjoy some of the best fish and chips!

Pubs in Earl Soham, Framlingham 4 miles, Woodbridge 10 miles, Aldeburgh 9 miles, Orford 12 miles, Southwold 18 miles.

Why we love this property… Marlborough House Forge offers beautiful spacious interiors for two - the perfect couples escape!

Mrs C,

Absolute paradise. We echo everything fellow holiday makers have said regarding the beautiful cottage. It’s perfect in every way and has been a great place to celebrate my wife’s 60th Birthday. From the very first moment arriving to fresh flowers and a gorgeous welcome tray this has been wonderful and weather has been glorious. Wonderful days spent in Southwold, Thorpeness and exploring beautiful Suffolk.

Past Customer,

What a wonderful week we’ve had. The treats upon arrival were much appreciated and got our holiday off to a great start. The location of the cottage is perfect and enabled us to explore so much of this lovely part of the country. Minsmere, Dunwich Heath and Boynton Hollesley were fantastic for walking and birding. It was so nice to return to such a cosy and comfortable ‘home from home’ at the end of each day. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage with us and for making this the restful and relaxing break we both needed.

Mr G,

Marlborough House Forge was very clean, comfortable & quiet. Overlooking looking fields when seated on the sofa & also the outside seating area (the weather wasn't conducive to us make use of this though). The large shower is excellent & the property well equipped. It's not a large property, but ideal for a couple.

Mr G,

Really appreciated the way in which information was provided prior to our holiday. Receiving reminders of key information, both by email and text, was particularly useful and meant that we didn't have to go searching round for directions/key safe codes at the last minute. The cottage itself was wonderful and had everything we could have wished for. The perfect place for a relaxing and restful holiday.

Miss Rachel W,

What a wonderful cottage! Very clean with gorgeous soft furnishings and lovely little extras such as fresh flowers and home made scones on arrival. Lovely little garden with a stable door. The welcome tray was lovely. We have revisited haunts and memories from years gone by. Thanks Cathy we hope to be back!

Past Customer,

We were well looked after by OC with all the info we could possibly need. The accommodation was very comfortable and the owner lived next door - a very nice lady indeed. She made us very welcome. The countryside in the area was spectacular and great for exploring. The Sugar Beet lorries were quite busy as i guess the crop is harvested around now. Passing them on the narrow lanes was quite challenging at times.
