Southwold Pier Area - It is often said that nothing changes in Southwold.  However, the much acclaimed pier was rebuilt in 2001 and was the first to be constructed in England in over 50 years.  It now fits in well with the painted beach huts, promenade and colourful flowerbeds.  There is a shop, cafe and an alternative amusement arcade there.  The selection of properties hereabouts makes it an ideal location to stay in Southwold if you require quiet accommodation that is also close to the beach, town centre and the many footpaths across the marshes leading you to the less explored areas of the town.

Reviews

Lovely house in a great location. Perfect for six adults or a family with children.

Mrs P,

Very comfortable and spacious cottage, but the main attraction is very close proximity to the beach front - literally 3 minutes walk. Also a good pub just few minutes walk away, and all the High Street shops within 8-10 minutes walking distance.

Mr K,

Lovely location and beautifully clean and spacious. But the furniture could do with an update to do justice to the property. But we had a comfy and happy stay.

Ms P,

House is well equipped and very comfortable. This is our second visit to Grace House.

Miss A,

A lovely house great location well equipped and clean the grandchildren loved all the lego in the toy cupboard

Mrs W,

Grace House was very comfortable, clean and well decorated. The accommodation is suitable for 6 adults and we would book in the future.

Mr J,

We enjoyed our stay. The location was great. The property was roomy. It was nice to have two bathrooms and to have a dining table with a comfortable sitting area as well as a table in the kitchen.

Mrs B,

Overall we were very happy with the property and its location. The equipment levels, linen etc very good and the house was clean. The only negative was that on arrival the black bin outside was full to overflowing. There was a broken glass laying on the top of the rubbish and lots of flies. As the bin was not emptied until Wednesday this was not particularly pleasant.

Mr Michael R,

The property was an ideal location and very clean and comfy. The only two issues was no idea how the microwave works and the hot water didn’t last long. I and my daughter had hotel water but my husband had to have a cold shower. Would have been nice to know that it can only take two showers!

Mrs Tracey H,

Grace House 72 Stradbroke Rd Problems with house: 1. Electric cooker oven didn’t work, so we couldn’t cook planned menus. 2. Downstairs toilet is difficult to flush Additional problems relating to provisions in the house: 1. The bottom sheet on the double bed did not tuck in at the top, bottom or sides, it was laid on the bed- very uncomfortable until replaced at our request (thank you SS). Really we should not have had to ask, rather basic not to make a bed up that poorly 2. By way of observation the bedlinen was generally extremely thin/cheap looking. The double duvet hung out the bottom of the cover and did not fill the sides 3. There was one single bin liner in the rubbish bin only. No spares. We had to buy a roll or put rubbish in an unlined bin ( we bought and remover the roll) 4. There was only one soap (a dispenser in the kitchen) in the entire house, none in the bathrooms, only hand gel. No shampoo etc at all 5. There was a dribble of bathroom cleaner in an almost empty dispenser 6. One toilet roll in each bathroom- for 6 people for a week, not very welcoming. 7. 3 dish wash tabs for the week, ditto 8. An empty clingfilm box 9. No picnic boxes or food savers of any description We rather felt that a combination of the above problems rather let down the otherwise charming Grace House. It made us feel disinclined to return to that house. Certainly we would prefer to stay somewhere where the changeover and set up is not done by the people who prepared Grace House for us on this occasion. Also, it should be very clear what is being supplied and if it’s going to be adequate for the length of stay booked.

Mrs Mary B,

Large comfortable and clean home from home.

Mrs M,

A beautiful cottage very close to both the sea and shops. Exceptionally clean and very well furnished. Especially enjoyed a large table and chairs in both the dining area and the kitchen. We will be re-booking!

Ms Julia S,

Lovely house situated close to the sea and the town, I would definitely go back
