Southwold Pier Area - It is often said that nothing changes in Southwold. However, the much-acclaimed pier was rebuilt in 2001 and was the first to be constructed in England in over fifty years. It now fits in well with the painted beach huts, promenade and colourful flower beds. There is a shop, cafes and an alternative amusement arcade there. The selection of properties' hereabouts makes it an ideal location to stay in Southwold if you require quiet accommodation that is also close to the beach, town centre and the many footpaths across the marshes leading you to the less explored areas of the town.

Reviews

Lovely big family get together house. Brilliant location. Lots of space for everyone.

Mrs W,

Overall happy with the cottage, perfect location and very comfortable. If the cleaning job was better and a few basic essentials added i would be giving a full 5 star review.

Mr L,

Fabulous house for large parties to stay, so well equipped. The TV rooms were great, as this kept people happy both ways, to watch telly or just to chat, great idea.

Mrs C,

The house overall was ok and of course as it was Christmas we had a nice time. It is spacious and well located and the beds are comfortable.

Mr S,

Very convenient for beach and walking distance to shops etc.

Mr L,

superb location 2 minutes from pier and beach, with expansive sea views from the bedrooms, comfortable for 9 adults and 5 children, plenty of room for dining and relaxing inside or in the large garden, the large lobby was particularly useful for getting everyone ready to go out and store our beach things

Past Customer,

Saxon House is a charming family home that demands respect. It is comfortably furnished, well-equipped and the owners were responsive to any queries we had. The house is spacious enough to accommodate the allowed number of guests comfortably and it's location is ideal. It was perfect for our extended family holiday.

Mrs Mary H,

Saxon House is a wonderful location, so near the Pier and the centre of Southwold. Clean, comfortable and very spacious for a multi-generation holiday. The grandchildren had their own playroom for playing computer games. It was well equipped for a large number of guests and the en-suite bathrooms were really useful. Some of the decor was a bit tired, and a couple of the showers were a bit temperamental. But on the whole Saxon House is a great base for a family holiday where you don't have to worry too much about treading sand into the hall! And we managed to get 4 large cars on the drive - useful as the road outside gets parked up early in the day.

Mrs Jackie C,

The house is in a great location and is a really good size for a large family or couples. The property itself could benefit from a few improvements to all the bathrooms. Some of the radiators didn’t work. The kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of plates, bowls, mugs, glasswear etc. there were two microwaves, two washing machines but only one average size fridge. Overall we really enjoyed our stay but the property would benefit from a few improvements.

Miss S,

Great place to stay, we went with 10 people and we had a spare bedroom. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, even 3 spare bathrooms downstairs. Highly recommend going as it’s in a great location and easy to get to.
