River Lodge

Directly overlooking the West Lyn River in a beautiful wooded valley within the Exmoor National Park.   River Lodge is a privately owned property amongst a small number of lodges in a most idyllic location in the picturesque hamlet of Lynbridge. On the outskirts of the popular twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth this delightful lodge has wonderful river views and offers trout fishing directly from the property(annual rod licence only required). A verandah runs along two sides of the lodge to give you the best river views and the constant sound of the river provides a natural soundtrack to the amazing surrounding countryside. Glazed doors lead directly into an open plan living/dining room with a newly fitted kitchen. The lodge is cosy and warm inside no matter what the season and views of the West Lyn as it meanders its way over moss covered rocks and falls towards the sea can be enjoyed from the main living space. Two compact bedrooms and a small shower room lead off the kitchen area making the lodge an ideal base for couples and small families. A covered verandah and patio area at the side of the lodge is a great spot for relaxation and al fresco dining.  With a local character Inn serving good food closeby, all the amenities of Lynton within a 10 minute walk and easy access to Lynmouth via the famous cliff railway you can enjoy a great relaxing holiday amid the lush greenery in this deeply cut Exmoor valley. This is an ideal spot for walkers with wonderful river, coastal and moorland walks accessed directly from the property.  The surrounding splendour of Exmoor offers many famous beauty spots all within a short drive including, Porlock Weir, Doone Valley and Tarr Steps.  However for those who wish to venture further afield the popular coastal resort Ilfracombe with its choices of shops, galleries and restaurants are only approx. 30 minutes scenic drive whilst the glorious sandy surfing beaches of Woolacombe Bay are just a further 10 minute drive

Accommodation: Steps up to Ground floor: Covered verandah. Open plan living/dining room with Freesat TV and DVD. Kitchen area  with gas hob and multi fuel oven, microwave, fridge, small freezer, and washing machine. Bedroom 1 with Double. Bedroom 2 with 2'6 twin beds.  Shower room with small, deep fitted shower tray (12" step) WC and basin.

Facilities & Services: Linen and towels. Gas CH, Wi-Fi Broadband. No cot provided (restricted space)  No smoking. 1 pet welcome. Garden furniture. Private parking for 1 car adjacent. Onsite facilites include small shop, cafe, off licence and tumble dryer. Short breaks available. Arr/Dep for weekly bookings is Saturday.
