Description

Down winding lanes, through woods and rolling pastureland you will be enthralled as you finally arrive at The Bryer. The spectacular setting will take your breath away and the cottage is quite simply enchanting. Magnificent oak beams, vaulted ceilings and luxurious finishes make this a very special countryside retreat in a beautiful vineyard setting. If you tire of the peace and quiet or wandering through the vines, it is only a short drive to Rye with its cobbled streets, historic buildings and great specialist shops and a few minutes further are the seven miles of beautiful golden sandy beaches at Camber - so really something for everyone, young or old, to enjoy.  The Bryer can be booked in conjunction with its sister property, Owl House RH1151, to sleep a total of  up to 6 people, making this a great place to share with family and friends.

Reviews

We had a lovely stay. The property was very clean and was in the perfect location. Beautiful views of the countryside and very peaceful.

Mr O,

A very sympathetic and tasteful modernisation has converted The Bryer into a wonderful holiday cottage. Although accessed directly off an existing farmyard opposite the owner's house, the property is very private as the main aspect opens up in the opposite direction onto fields and small vineyard, with extensive views beyond of the Rother Valley. The property is very comfortable, clean and well equipped, and the owners are very welcoming and helpful. The access road is gravel for about a mile off Hobbs Lane, on the outskirts of Beckley, but once on the main road through the village there are many interesting places to visit within easy driving distance - Great Dixter, Sissinghurst Castle, Scotney Castle, Battle Abbey and the Kent and East Sussex Heritage Railway to name but a few. For a first time visit to East Sussex it couldn't be better.

Mr L,

Very nice hosts, who made us very welcome. The location was very peaceful and the feeling of being in the countryside and on a farm brings you closer to nature. All in all, it was a good experience spending time together with the family, not worrying about the home chores and the list of things that need to be done. Very peaceful and we were able to work out our outings at our pace in the local sight-seeing in the villages and the coast. My batteries are definitely recharged and I am looking forward to planning for the next year's break.

Mr B,

cottage was in a beautiful location, very quiet with lovely views. Cottage is very comfortable, beds and sofas really good. Kitchen facilities excellent and shower was brilliant. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone who wants to get away from it in a quiet location away from it all

Mr Mark R,

The property is quiet, well looked after and very welcoming owners. On arrival there was tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter, eggs and pots of jams................ very good start to the holiday. The rear garden is fenced in and private unless you object to the birds chirping. The property is as described on the website, the wet room shower was really nice and we choose to use it for all of us. Beds are very comfortable and I would recommend this cottage to all.
