Description

Regent Cottage is a fabulous family holiday home in Aldeburgh - right opposite the beach. If you’re looking for a coastal retreat, this traditional cottage certainly ticks all the boxes!

This fabulous beach side holiday cottage is everything you could want it to be… a traditional red brick holiday home oozing character and style with kerb appeal! Sea facing Regent Cottage is in an amazing position on Crag Path with totally uninterrupted sea views from the wide bay window in the sitting room and the first floor balcony.

This picture postcard property has bright white window shutters and a pretty front porch. Step inside and the tardis like house is spacious, set over three floor with plenty of room for seven guests. The stylish sitting room comes complete with a Smart TV with Netflix, Blu Ray DVD player and Bluetooth, traditionally furnished with a couple of dark blue sofas, a very comfortable space for relaxing whatever the weather. The open plan kitchen/dining room is on the lower ground floor, fitted with all the usual appliances including a dishwasher and wash dryer. The three first floor bedrooms are charming, decorated in coastal style and beautifully furnished throughout.

If you can escape the beach, it’s worth exploring Aldeburgh with its Georgian High Street. This was Benjamin Britten’s home town, he was the founder of the Aldeburgh Music Festival, an annual event held in June.

Aldeburgh is situated at the heart of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The river Alde, popular with sailors, winds its way to Orford downstream and up-stream to Snape Maltings, home of the internationally famous Aldeburgh Music Festival. Thorpeness, just a couple of miles north along the beach, has its own special seaside character. In Aldeburgh fishermen still, pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from their picturesque huts. The high street has mostly independent shops mixed in with a nice variety of eating places. There are also several good hotels overlooking the sea, ideal for a leisurely lunch or evening meal. Opposite our Aldeburgh office is an interesting old and very well equipped cinema which shows the latest films and occasional festivals e.g. the highly regarded annual Aldeburgh Documentary Film Festival. There is always plenty to do in Aldeburgh while a radius of 10 miles inland will bring you to the fabulous natural riches of the East Anglian countryside and coastal area - and plenty of excellent pubs.

Reviews

Regents Cottage is in a great location, and the views from the 2 bedrooms are 'on the beach'. The house is well equipped and the appliances work well. The stairs to the kitchen basement / shower are steep and would not be good for those who are unsteady on their feet. The property is a lovely place, and was perfect for our family of 5 as we really value location.

Mr N,

Fabulous location in a prime position overlooking the water. Very well equipped kitchen, with everything you would need for a trip away at the seaside. We were all very happy staying at Regents cottage and can't wait to come back!
