Reviews

Lovely, cosy cottage with everything we needed in the most perfect location and stunning sea views. Bonus parking spot too - extremely rare in RBH but the seagulls enjoyed using the car as target practice!! (...but that should be expected being literally 12ft from the seawall!!) The cottage was very well equipped, always felt very warm even on a couple of very wet, cool days. The shower was excellent (always good before and after long days out and about). Bonus to have good Wifi and TV reception too. We ate pizza at the Smugglers which was fresh and delicious and steak at Brambles Bistro which was excellent - the Bordelaise sauce was to die for!! The cottage is great for 2 people and a small dog - we would highly recommend it but would advise that it is a very cosy and old cottage and therefore not necessarily built for tall people or those that may struggle with stairs. Also need to be a bit brave driving through the tight village roads and reversing down the hill from the parking bay. Be aware that other drivers will also be navigating or parking on the same roads so patience is a must! We hope to return one day as this is a great place to stay and enjoy everything that Robin Hoods Bay has to offer.

Mr H,

A delightful and unique place to stay, with stunning views from most windows. Well equipped and with comfortable lounge and bedroom. Would stay again.

Mr A,

This cottage is spectacular… very cosy , and feels so homely … the sea views out of most windows are just incredible…. The decor is perfect , bed super comfy , kitchen well equipped … couldn’t ask for more !… we will return !!

Ms R,

Excellent property and perfect location with the added bonus of a parking spot

Mr H,

Lovely, well equipped cottage in a great position in Lower Robin Hoods Bay. Fabulous views from the upstairs rooms, lots of quirky ornamental stuff throughout the property (as is the case in many of these cottages), stairs are easier than some we've been in, great kitchen, some nice 'welcome' goodies from the owners, excellent WiFi. Nothing not to like, really.

Mr B,

Gorgeous property, full of character and brilliant location. Suited us perfectly. Easy access to lots of walks and could both see and hear the sea from the house. Loved it.

Mrs O,

We had a wonderful time at your cottage, we were very relaxed and very comfortable. The actual location of the cottage was superb and would recommend to anyone. We had our own parking spot which was ideal as parking is very scarce, we just parked up and went everywhere on the bus. Great holiday.

Mrs Alison B,

Overall the cottage was very good. The upstairs lounge was particularly nice. The location is very good. There are a few areas that are a little “tired” - varnished table/work tops tend to get a bit sticky after cleaning, the bathroom cabinet door was very loose, shower caddy fell off, bathroom sink tap leaked (needs a new washer). One negative (not the fault of the owner) is in the car parking that is directly under a chimney which is a seagull perch. After less than two days the car was such a mess that it was impossible to see through the screen. We weren’t anticipating this so had very limited materials with which to clean the car for safe driving - advice beforehand and provision of a bucket to swill/wipe down the car would help.

Mr David S,

We had an amazing time, time out to relax in a perfect cottage in a beautiful location, we love Robin Hood’s bay and have been there many times and we keep coming back, the accommodation never disappoints ??

Miss Joanne D,

Equipment, location.

Mr Jonathan R,

The property was perfect for us and the description was spot on. I also like the fact that you can book 3 nights on the website which helps for short breaks.

Mr Geoffrey W,

Excellent cottage, loved our stay, bathroom very small as is shower but not a problem for us. The bed and mattress past its best, could do with a review with high season on its way.

Mrs Gill L,

The cottage is beautiful, in a stunning location and with the unique bonus of a parking space - although the largely car-free nature of RHB is a huge plus. In a cottage of that age and so rambling, the odd cobweb or speck of dust wouldn’t have been a surprise but it was immaculate. My only minor gripe would be that no soap is provided in the bathroom, a must for before you’ve had chance to unpack or after you’ve finished packing to leave. But otherwise, 10/10

Mr Simon J,

The cottage was amazing. Perfect location and fantastic views.

Mrs Georgie G,

Cliff Head Cottage was lovely, warm and comfortable! It was well equipped generally. We definitely plan to come back.

Miss Krista G,

The cottage was super cute and decorated in keeping with it. Never stayed anywhere that provided so many extras such as wood and coal for the fire, condiments etc and the basket with goodies in was a nice touch and there was even milk in the fridge. The views from the cottage were amazing, we certainly felt relaxed after our stay here.

mrs F H,

Our only issues were the tv downstairs wasn’t working, we did change the battery in the remote with no success, this was only a problem because we stayed with our dog and wanted to be downstairs with her , also when we arrived just after 4pm there was a car parked in our parking spot and two other cars behind it I tried nearby cottages with no luck , so after I long journey we parked at the bottom and took the dog on the beach for a wee within 10 minutes or so we had a parking ticket, I appreciate that you can’t control issues with other cars but it did put a dampener on the beginning of our stay

Mrs Louise C,

Second visit this year and the cottage was better than we remembered from March.
