Description

This beautiful Grade II listed cottage is a hidden gem, situated just off the tourist track at the bottom of the small fishing village of Robin Hoods Bay. An idyllic location close to the beach and slipway plus all of the unique gift shops, cafes, bistros and traditional pubs that this historic coastal village has to offer.  The larger seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough are just a short drive away if you are wanting to explore the coast further.

Fenay Cottage has been lovingly restored and decorated to a high standard, with lots of delightful finishing touches adding to the original character of the cottage. Traditional features such as beamed ceilings and original sash windows are mixed with contemporary yet comfortable furnishings to provide an ideal retreat for a family or group holidaying together.

Reviews

Very nice place to stay

Mr A,

Fenay Cottage is fabulous! Beautifully decorated, cosy, with everything you could possibly need. A real home from home. We will be back - thank you for everything.

Ms C,

Overall the cottage was excellent as was the communication from the agent. We won’t visit again though as we have a dog and the narrow and steep stair cases woukd have been ok if our dog could walk up stairs, but she can’t due to back surgery. So although we had a lovely time and would be suitable for an adult only, no kids, no dogs holiday. It was as expected, so not the fault of the property description, more about our individual needs. Only other feedback and not something you can change, the Bay is beautiful, but the seagulls are very loud, woke us every morning at 5.30am. Was ok at first, but by day 7, was glad to leave them behind.

Mrs Jackie M,

Property was exactly as described..but all visitors must be able to cope with the climb back up and the steps..we were fine as we know Robin Hoods Bay..we did have to juggle cars, luggage, a baby and a great grandma but we did expect that.

mrs N,

Fenay Cottage is in a great location, smack bang in the middle of all the tiny winding alleys. The only thing to be aware of is that the car park is a bit of a walk away and you can’t unload outside the house, but this is because it is in such a gorgeous location in the middle of all the alleys. The cottage was very clean, in other cottages I have stayed at I am thinking about how clean they are or not, but at Fenay this didn’t even cross my mind as it was so clean. There are a couple of nice pubs, but the dates we were there, 4-9 Nov, 2 of the restaurants were closed for their winter holiday, returning on 16th Nov. This limited us to eating at The Bay or the Chip Shop. But there are other places to eat at the very top of the village. There are a few shops to visit, more than some other small seaside locations we have been to, and they were mostly open even though it was low season which was nice. The beach is great for walking the dog and there are so many other doggy people around. We loved Robin Hood’s Bay and will def go back ??
