Reviews

A lovely cottage in a beautiful and convenient location - thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Mr K,

Really well positioned for the center of the village, beach and coastal walks. Having a parking permit makes loading and unloading from the nearby carpark really easy which is a real boon in this part of the village. The cottage was comfy and well equipped. By RHB standards is was a good size and being dog friendly was a real bonus. The owner was also really helpful with booking in and leaving times which made travel arrangements less stressful. In all a great find and we shall come again when we can.

Mr W,

We loved our stay - the cottage is comfortable, well equipped and well located. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend

Mr F,

Everything we needed for an enjoyable holiday, close to the sea and all local walks. Property was fully equipped, and comfortable.

Mr M,

We had a lovely time at Hillside. The only negative for me is the carpets downstairs with having a dog. But it was exactly what we expected.

Miss Wendy H,

Our second stay in Hillside and just as lovely as last year. Some of our highlights this year. Walk to Ravenscar Tearooms along the Cleveland Way and back via the seal colony & Beach. Whitby for pottering, gorgeous circular walk from Goathland & Alpamare Water Park. We had a great game of hide & seek in RHB & enjoyed both the Coastguard Museum & village museum. Sunday lunch at the Victoria Hotel was delicious. We also had great lunches at The Humble Pie in Whitby, Ravenscar Tearooms & The Hayburn Wyke Inn. The weather was glorious. We wished we'd brought our shorts. Reading our books with views of the village & the sea was very relaxing. We hope to return to RHB one day.

Past Customer,

Great cottage, fantastic location. Good walks, pubs, beaches and people are so friendly. Fab fish & chips at the Bay Hotel, delicious steak at Brambles Bistro and really good pizza at Smugglers. All dog friendly.

Past Customer,

We had a fantastic stay at Hillside, it has everything you could possibly want. Very spacious accommodation and well equipped, great views and conveniently close to the beach, restaurants & pubs and the car park. Had great views to Boggle Hole, Whitby & Sandsend. Would definitely come back. Thank you.

Past Customer,

Lovely cottage in a great location, near beach and with parking. Plenty of space in cottage and so cozy. Every thing you could want for a great time away!

Mrs Jeanine M,

The cottage was the nicest of the 8 properties we have stayed in in Robin Hoods Bay over the years. Everything was perfect.

Mrs Susan D,

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cottage - what a perfect spot! We've eaten fish and chips and ice cream for almost every meal hunted for the Boggle of Boggle Hole - great cafe at the youth hostel there and spent ages rock pooling. Only wish we could have stayed longer, we will be back. Love the Studds

A fantastic stay in a lovely cottage in an amazing location. We've packed a lot in! Parkrun at Dalby Forest, seal watching at Ravenscar, Europe's largest mainland seabird colony at Bempton cliffs ( saw the last few puffins before they move on ), bike riding and walking on the cinder track, the water park at Scarborough, Whitby old town and Thornwick bay. Rusty shears in Whitby is a cracking place for food and gin! Really enjoyed being able to come back to the comforts of the cottage at the end of the day.

What a lovely oasis of tranquility after a long days drive! Not only is it a beautiful and well designed house with everything we could possibly need provided in such a thoughtful way. In particular as a blind person ( Annie ) I found everything in the house really intuitive and easy to negotiate and remember and thank you very much for welcoming Lennie as my essential guide dog and not a pet-he will miss his free runs on the beach every morning. Would recommend the visit to Beck Hole for the smallest pub and sweet shop (and best beer cake!) on the moors. We also enjoyed Pickering market day on the Monday. We thank the Clark family for sharing their lovely home!

This is a magical place-swimming in the sea was amazing after first cold hit and top walk lovely views. Thanks for the all the little touches to help us feel at home - including the reading glasses! Love to you all

Previous Customer

Wonderful seaside holiday in a comfortable, well equipped cottage perfectly positioned to access all the delights of Robin Hoods Bay. Highly recommend the Smugglers for an evening meal - lovely romantic cosy atmosphere and top notch seafood. many thanks to Mr Henry - wonderful neighbour who gave us some fresh mackerel to barbeque. Loved the beds - very comfortable. Robin Hoods Bay - one of our favourite places. Nowhere compares it's magical

Wonderful cottage, home from home a great place to chill out and relax. Weather was fantastic, we managed to walk 26 miles in 3 days! Would recommend the Cleveland way to Whitby and Ravenscar. We love it here and looking forward to booking a week for next year.

Clark family, Had a wonderful 5 night stay in this amazing house. A real home from home! This place is perfectly situated to enjoy all that Robin's Hood Bay has to offer, but equally it was lovely to stay in, cook and enjoy the garden and the wonderful views from the upstairs rooms. Thank you - we really loved our stay.

Oh my goodness, the only thing to rival our rumbling jealously for the cottage. What a perfect idyll. My 4 year old asked if we could stay for ever and ordered me to go fetch our dog. Since having our two children we have begun the tradition of a weeks stay every year and I can honestly say the house was a huge part of this years stay. I understand the cottage has been an affair of the heart for the Clark family which shines through in the feel. Pls if you find my boy hidden in a cupboard or under a bed please do send him home!
