Reviews

Stunning location and comfortable & beautiful house. Great views and walks from property.

Mrs L,

Tonga House has a amazing location with some incredible views of Porthtowan and the coastline. Access to the coastal path is great for walks to St Agnes. The house is spacious and was very warm for February! We loved sitting by the round window in the master bedroom on the chaise longue. The outside shower was brilliant after a swim in the cold winter sea. The welcome pack was much appreciated. We did find a lack of hanging space for wet gear and our wetsuits. The lighting in the kitchen space needs improving. Overall, we had a wonderful stay for my 60th birthday.

Mr B,

This is a perfect property for a family and friends with a dog.

Mrs L,

Lovely few days away with family. Great house with plenty of space. Fab fire place in downstairs lounge. Close to wonderful beach and views from house are incredible!

Mrs B,

Location

Located within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Porthtowan is probably best known for its Blue Flag award winning, golden sandy beach (lifeguarded in summer) backed by large dunes and dramatic cliffs. The coastal footpath skirts over the cliffs to St Agnes and Portreath with spectacular views across the sea.

This small, seaside village is situated right in the heart of Cornwall's Heritage Mining Area and ideally located mid-way between St Ives and Newquay, making it a convenient base for exploring all which Cornwall has to offer.

The facilities within the village itself include cafes, beach/ surf shops, water sports equipment hire, a children's play park, large public car park and other local amenities.

Please note a seasonal dog ban applies on Porthtowan beach from Easter to end of September.
