Reviews

Fantastic week in this lovely cottage helped by the wonderful sunshine evert day! We love the village and have visited several times over the years. The cottage is very cosy and love the open-plan living area (beds could be comfier but not a big deal!) We've had a brilliant week here and the kids do not want to leave tomorrow - nor do the grown ups! Hope to visit again some time.

Past Customer,

We had a most fabulous stay - this place is wonderful! The garden is perfect for all weathers - we enjoyed the sunny evenings on the decking and all ages all loved playing on the hill. The house is so well thought through - the attention to detail is outstanding and its such a special place. The beds were very very comfy too!

Past Customer,

Our 5th stay at Bryher Cottage and St. Mawgan. Delighted to return after past 2 years cancellations. Visited our favourite beach several times - Harlyn Bay and impressed by new beach bars/cafes and as ever the wide open sands and brilliant surf. Tried a few new places to eat!

Past Customer,

We have had a fantastic week here. This is our third stay in this lovely cottage and we hope to come again, We have been very lucky with the weather and visited Watergate Bay, Mawgan Porth beach and Padstow. Our girls have loved playing on the beaches, in the rock pools and body boarding. We also cycled along the Camel Trail which was beautiful. We hired the bikes from Padstow. We had a delicious meal at the local pub which is only a few minutes walk away. We love this village and this great cottage and hope to come again.

Past Customer,

Thank you for a fabulous stay. What a beautiful house it is! The weather has been just as beautiful and we have had such a great time here. We have made some memories which we will treasure forever. The children (and adults!) had a fantastic time body boarding at the beach and playing games in the garden.

Past Customer,

Back for our 3rd visit to Bryher Cottage and looking forward to booking our 4th visit soon. Loved visiting Mawgan Porth beach, Constantine and Crantock Bay. Padstow is beautiful regardless of the weather as was Charlestown where we visited the Shipwreck Museum and Shackleton Exhibition. The cottage is perfectly located and equipped. Thank you!

Past Customer,

Cottage is set in a lovely peaceful village. Local village pub does lovely food and has a nice beer garden to sit outside.Local beach is a short drive away. Padstow and Newquay both easily accessible - best of both worlds. Cottage clean and tidy with decking and garden furniture to capture the last part of the day a bonus . Beds very comfortable and a great shower . We had a lovely relaxing stay and highly recommend.

Mrs G,

Location

If you're seeking a holiday in the archetypal picturesque country village, St Mawgan is an excellent destination. You can have lunch at the Falcon Inn, a traditional pub with a warm welcome and excellent menu, walk through leafy lanes, past the village green and cricket ground, visit the Japanese Bonsai Gardens and craft shop, and round the afternoon off with a delicious cream tea from the local Post Office and Tea Room.  You would never guess that it's a short drive from the town of Newquay or the nearby airport. Down the road, Mawgan Porth village gives you a complete contrast.  The rugged cliffs that border the sheltered sandy bay invite you to enjoy bracing cliff walks and eye-catching scenery.  If you get tired, you can stop for fish and chips, or a meal at the Merrymoor Inn.  There is also Merlin Golf Club, and a pitch and putt course for those looking for family fun!  The entertainment continues in the summer holidays with Mawgan Porth's Donkey Derby and the annual duck race- choose your (plastic!) duck and join in the fun! Nearby Bedruthan Steps is a further example of the dramatic and spectacular coastline for which the area is renowned.  When you've exhausted yourself with all these possibilities, why not pamper yourself with a luxury spa treatment at either the Bedruthan or Scarlet Hotels - you've earned it!
